ChefGuru Stainless Steel Splatter Screen Woven Mesh Splash Guard with Silicone Handle, 13-Inch

After a month of steady use, I can honestly say this is as good as I expected and can recommend it with just a few reservations. I did not appreciate the multiple early email spam of coertion to give a (positive?) review by the seller via email almost immediately after receiving it. I finally had to Block their emails. But it is a sturdy product unlike the cheapies sold at CVS and local department stores. This appears to be well made with excellent screen thickness, metal stamping, crimping and spot welding work at the edges and strong frame with extra bracing supporty across the screen . It is a bit heavier than expected. It will slide off a smaller diameter pan if not centered carefully. This is due to the heavy steel reinforcement framework supporting the screen. The screen diameter is prettey large at 13 inches and will overhang even the typical largest size (11.5``) household frying pan and really flops around quite a bit on smaller pans.. The supplied separate soft silicon rubber insulating handle cover is a bit of a nuisance since it is not made to fit tightly onto the metal handle. It could easily get detached and lost if you are not careful. This presents a potential handling burn hazard so be very careful about this. I believe the manufacturer should redesign this to make it a permanent part of the screen`s handle. You really should clean the screen after use to prevent oil and food build up. I do it by hand using detergent and a Scotch Brite pad then a quick rinse and hand dry. I suppose cleaning in some dishwashers would be possible if there is sufficient clearance for its large size. Suprisingly good contstruction for a Made in China product. Good value for household and light commercial needs. Really wish an American made product of better design was available.

Sturdy screen, with a silicon handle wrap. The handle wrap is loose on the screen, so I can't keep it on there full time. I put it in the drawer with my other pot holders. The bottom has a couple of ridges, so this item can rest on the counter, or on a smaller pan without sliding off. My last one was ruined by someone putting a pot on it. I think this will have more longevity due to the sturdy y shaped wire running down the middle. I subtracted one star due to the looseness of the silicon handle wrap.

I use cast iron cookware, and don't have lids for all my pots and pans. These splatter screens have saved so much mess in the kitchen. I used to to have clean oil splatters off of the cook top every night, and ruined multiple shirts (until I realized how great aprons are). This is easy to clean and definitely worth the low price. I usually clean by hand with dish soap and water, but have put it in the dishwasher occasionally and it has held up well.

Beautiful screen! Fits my cast iron skillet perfectly. I am so pleased that it came with the silicone handle protector for my skillet, too. A bonus at the same price as those without this. I highly recommend!

Seems nicely made and works well. The mesh isn't as fine as the one it replaced, but it works well. Sure looks better since I set that one on a hot burner and ruined it. If you're thinking about buying this for the silicone handle, be aware that it doesn't fit that well and falls off easily. Maybe it will fit on another pan?

This was purchased as part of a Christmas gift for a neighbor. However, I do have one myself and it really helps to keep the splatter down when you are frying anything.

This does everything it promises. I could not believe how well it worked keeping the oil from splattering all over the cooktop. And it is dishwasher safe. What more do you want from a splatter screen??
