Sous Vide versatility at a low cost and an improved design: It still fits virtually any size pot or pan, round or rectangular, but now we include a clear polycarbonate "hold-down" strip and elastic bands that keep the pouches submerged and a polyester mesh bag for eggs and other fragile foods.. Pins can be unscrewed to allow for thicker cuts. Also this rack will accommodate a thicker roast or rack of ribs by placing the pouch length wise, something no other rack that we know of on the market offers. We bundle these racks with our 2.5, 4.5 and 5.5 gal. clear polycarbonate sous vide pans but now offer them separately. Overall dimensions (collapsed): 7" high x 5" wide x 5" deep.

Final verdict: Love it
Original Review: Great idea but........one of the features that convinced me to buy it was the ability to unscrew individual separater rods to make space for thicker cuts of meat. However, each rod is held on by a small screw that sticks up about 1/2 inch. You can remove the rods, but the sharp little screws remain to poke holes in the sous vide bags. I returned it.Update 5/8/16: Contacted by the company and told they are adding heat proof caps to cover the screws. I haven't had a chance to try the rack with the caps, but it sounds like a huge improvement. Other than the screws, it's a nice device. Changing my review to 4 stars. May go to five after I have a chance to use it.Updated 6/20/16Disclosure: the company sent me the new unit with screw caps include. I've used it twice since then, both times with four of the rods removed and the screws covered with caps. Both times the water bath was set to 135 degrees and used 30 hours. The caps worked as advertised and the sous vide bags remained intact. I really like this product. Simple to use, accommodates itself to water baths of different sizes and varying thicknesses of meat. It collapses when not in use and stores in a small space.

I like it so much, I'm buying a second one for my second sous vide bath.
It may be the only perfect solution to managing bags in the bath—if you use my hack. After two years of heavy use, I put too much pressure on the flexible hold-down and snapped it, but I never liked it much anyway. Instead of replacing the hold-down, I pull the ends together with a loop of kitchen twine, which presses the pins against the bag and traps them so they don't float. When my new rack arrives, I'll toss the hold-down and use twine.Note: Don't freak out about the discoloration you see in the picture. Our water in northern New Mexico is highly alkaline, and everything winds up looking like that.

Great Sous Vide Product...
Must have product for Sous Vide cooking.Whether you have a couple of bags or 10, you can expanded the rack as needed. The plastic attachment works wonders keeping the bags submersed.I would suggest if you have a bigger 4.5 - 5 gallon Cambro style container, that you should have 2 of these racks, that you can place side by side.In return you can fit 18 - 20 smaller bags, for large volume cooks.I highly recommend this unit, if you are into Sous Vide cooking, expandable high quality stainless steel, with flexible plastic handles that help remove the rack all at once.

Nice rack for Sous Vide...
This rack is a very nice expandable rack for Sous Vide. It is heavier than I thought it would be from the picture and I like the rubber handles on it. I can slip my vacuum sealed meat in the slots and the water is able to get between the pouches. I use it often and have had no issues with it.

Keeps the Meat the Down
So this was a little bigger than I was expecting and the plastic sheet with the rubber bands is a bit awkward, but it does what it is suppose to do!

Rubber smells overwhelming
Great concept but rubber on rack has a truly overwhelming odor. Contacted seller, who responded instanty, thank you. I inquired if I can run thru dishwasher to try to alleviate odor. I did so, but only helped a little. Literally makes whole kitchen. Will return :-(

Nice for keeping bags separate. Update - Rusts
Works great to keep bags apart in the bath. Adjusts to the big tub I use.Update: Well, actually two problems with this. The first was the rubber handhold slipping off the rack. Pulling it out of the hot water, the rubber slips off and, SPLASH, mini ping-pong balls and hot water everywhere. Had to fish it out with a pair of tongs. Even that I could live with, but after using it yesterday I noticed it rusting along a couple hinge pins. Sure, that doesn't affect cooking at all, but it denotes poor quality and looks bad. So, trash for this and purchasing something else.

As advertised. Being retired, this item does not get used often. Sous Vide cooking takes a while and I have the time to make our food with conventional methods most of the time.
