The whale has a couple scratches on the bottom where the paint came off. Luckily that part won't be seen much. One thing I didn't notice from the picture is that the tail has some greenish coloring (I'm guessing it's meant to be algae). I suggest more realistic pictures that show off the actual details of the whale the customer will receive. I purchased it as a decoration for my brother's room, but it doesn't have a very sleek look to it like in the picture. It's not the seller's fault because it is intended for science, so just know that it's not the best choice for decor. For the classroom, it'll do the job.

It was used with my Nature Study group when I did a report on Humpbacks off the coast of Hawaii.
