Q: Is it waterproof? I want to take it recreation kayaking.

I took this compass on a 70ft scuba dive in salt water. This compass was still pretty accurate at that depth. I notice the ball had come slightly dislodged but its all still intact. Just gotta make sure to rinse in fresh water

Hi there, Thanks for reaching out to us! The smaller card on top is to view general orientation cardinal points, while the bigger, side card is to view direction of travel. Using the picture as an example, if you are traveling south, the larger card will show South as direction of travel, and the smaller card will have South on the opposite side, because the general direction of South is the way you are moving.
