I’ve been a chai-drinker for about 15 years. I drink it every single day. The thick, strong, nice-colored, not-too-milky Indian chai. I was looking at coffee machines on Amazon that can make chai. My head was essentially like, “You’re looking for a machine that can MAKE chai? Haha, In your dreams, good luck.”I knew it was too good to be true but I was browsing Amazon because I’m foolishly optimistic and I had time to kill. BUT GUESS WHAT, I came across this machine and it was like the angels opened up the skies and rained all their shiny luck on me.I’ve been using this machine every day for about three months and I hope these points can help you guys.1. It does make good Indian tea. It’s not overly watery or milky, it’s strong, it has the right color, it tastes amazing! I was skeptical but it really does a good job. If your chai isn’t tasting the way you want it to, try tweaking your chai recipe.2. The stirrer: This is a small black piece inside the machine that can be taken out. When I first got the machine, I got the error message which said the stirrer isn’t inserted properly and the machine used to stop working. I figured out that to insert the stirrer properly, you need to CLICK it down. It should make a short ‘click’ sound. What I was doing was simply putting it in place. You need to push it down a bit with a tiny amount of force, so it CLICKS in place. Once this happens, it won’t budge.3. There are two modes: Custom Chai and Quick Chai, I’ve used both but personally, I did not find a difference. I always use the Quick Chai mode because it’s quicker than the Custom Chai mode. I dump all the ingredients and start the machine on Quick Chai.4. Here’s how I make my chai: These are the ingredients -I dump into the machine - 1 cup water, 2 spoons sugar, 2 spoons black tea (Taj Mahal brand), freshly grated ginger, little bit whole milk. I then start the machine on Quick Chai for 10 minutes. You can choose less than 10 minutes as well.5. I removed the strainer that came with the machine, I use the machine without it.6. The machine beeps once the tea is done. It keeps beeping for a long time until you switch it off. It goes off after a while. I’ve noticed the tea does not really stay warm in the machine. So do not count on that. Once, my tea got cold and I used the ‘boil’ function with the prepared tea inside the machine. Not a good idea, the tea spilled everywhere. Do not do this. Haha.7. Clean-up is pretty easy, I rinse it with water most days and I clean it with a scrubber with light pressure once a week.8. I haven’t tried the other tea options in the machine. I’m a chai-drinker through and through.9. 1 out of 10 times, I’ve had a bit of an issue with the ginger. Sometimes, it churns the wrong way and the tea texture comes out a bit sandy. It happens rarely. I try not to add too much ginger.10. It’s a bit on the pricey side but it I think pays for itself. There’s no more standing over the stove to watch the water, no more milk boiling all over the stove, no more clean-ups, no more standing there forever increasing and decreasing the flame, It gives you 10 minutes to go other things and come back to it.

Its a great chai maker. indian style chai! But why the stirrer keeps jamming?? It’s very annoying. I might return so please let me know how to fix that??

Terrible burning and sticking

Update 8-2-2018 ~ Still going strong! Love this tea makerLove this and use it almost every day! It is a great product but I do have suggestions for the next iteration. The strainer and lid make the pot hard to clean. You can't just wash it out and turn it upside down in the drain rack as the lid gets in the way. The strainer always has to be removed to make sure it's clean. I would rather see no lid and no strainer. Just smooth stainless steel. I would also like to see an extra three programmable buttons for one button operation. I normally just dump all items in at one time, and find it annoying to have to press the start button more than once (yes I am lazy)! The only other thing I would like to see is the plastic stirrer be replaced with stainless steel. My $0.02! Keep up the good work.

This is our second one. The first one works very well.This one however has a different looking stirrer.its thin plastic. Initially it keeps beeping saying stirrer JamAfter a few attempts of reinserting the stirrer, it falls out into the liquid.Then we smell a strong burning smell within 1 minute of heating. Our chai is fully burnt.This is very disappointing as our first one is working well.

I love tea and had been searching for a product that would be versatile enough for my needs. I bought this product after it won the Tea Expo award. I went online and watched the videos. I am really glad I did. They were quite well presented. The machine intself is very easy to use, but since it's programmable it's also very versatile. The user manual and recipe guides are available online so you can check check them out. The machine itself is very well designed and thought out. I bought my machine in December and have heard that they have an updated stirrer attachment. I would like to have one because it is said to be more silent. If you like chai and infused teas this should be a treat. Full disclosure: This is a real review and I am totally unrelated to the manufacturer other than being a customer.

Great product! I have been making chai every morning for years. This tea maker allows me to get my kids ready for school without having to stand close to the boiling chai to watch for boil overs. The chai taste just like it does when I make it on the stove top but it's so much easier. The jug is also very easy to clean. I had an issue with the tea maker when it first arrived but Craftea customer service remedied the problem quickly. Great customer service!

I purchased this product and been using this product since March 2017. I am a big fan of this product.Since 3 weeks, I am having a issue every time I use it. The Stirrer gets jammed. I have to then take a spatula and use it to give some help to the stirrer to get moving. Once it gets the momentum - then it’s hassel free. The challenge here is the stirrer works for first few minutes and then stops while in the “Heating” process. This means if I’m not around that long, when I return back after 20 mins the chai is not ready... which defeats the purpose of the product.Can you please suggest- do I need to replace any parts?Update: 2018 Oct: I was never able to get this fixed. The work around I have been using is to reduce the quantity and keep it below the mark. This seems to have resolved the issue. It definitely has to be related to the load vs torque.
