The brushes for acrylics were quite nice (red handles). The watercolor brushes are just okay - they do shed a little. I am a beginner so they will serve their purpose helping me to decide if I want to invest in a set of good brushes. The oil brushes are the worst of the lot. The bristles are stuck together like they've been glued. There are big globs of something or other melding them together. I have not been able to separate any of the flats or filberts yet. The round separated with some coaxing. I also had to cut some curly, stray bristles from all of the brushes. Would I buy these again? Probably not. But for only twenty bucks, they will get me started with the watercolors.UPDATE: After trying for several hours to separate the bristles on the oil brushes, I decided to return these. I know these were only $20 and that you get what you pay for. The shedding was expected to some degree in a cheaper set of brushes but I did expect that I would be able to use all 36 brushes. Fully 1/3 of these were not serviceable - to me, that is unacceptable no matter what the cost.

The case that these come in is NOT nylon. It is cheap cotton drop cloth material with nylon tape sewn around the edges and cotton ties. I ordered these for my intro to painting course. We have only done one assignment so far and one of my acrylic brushes already snapped. Under normal use, drying the brush off on a towel I heard a crack. It's still usable if I grip it relatively close to the brush. Also I noticed the metal between the brush and the handle is already loose on some of the bigger brushes.Since I'm only in an intro class, and these only have to last one semester, I guess they are okay. You get what you pay for with brushes. I would definitely not order again.

5 of these brushes arrived used. All but these 5 brushes even had plastic covers on the bristles. The 5 used brushes were also stained with paint. How can you sell this to someone?

Whoever give 4~5 stars. I am not sure they got luck or what other reason to give 4~5 stars. This brush will waste your time and make you think "I got what I pay for". Really? I wish at lest a few of brushes like able. Very ideal sets of brush but products are not less than okay.Some of brushes came right off from handle, the hairs came off, and some of brush hairs has a few curly hairs sticking out of sides. Returning it.

Great brushes in nice case. Case is simple canvas texture and not sturdy like a nylon thicker brush case. It'll do the trick for now.. Brushes: Although they were a gift, I went ahead and opened the box to make sure they were okay. No loose fibers, but they are stale and pressed together very firmly.Glad I opened the box so I could separate the bristles. Nothing fancy, but all came in great.Overall very pleased!

It's probably fine to get for your four year old to putz around with but for any real painting it's not good at all. the hairs in the brush come out and get all over the painting, also they are not very stiff- or actually stiff at all that it makes making strokes on paper or canvas kind of tedious.

These are great brushes, I bought them for my toddler. I gave it a 3 for durability because a few of the brushes after the first use came apart while cleaning, but great set of brushes for the price.

Awful. Bought as a gift, they majority of the brushes were hard, covered in some sort of glue or oil and not something I would ever give to anyone. Immediately returning them. Buyer beware.

The brushes aren't a good quality, the actual brush part isn't attached properly so falls of easily

Most have loose and wobbly ferrules. All the bristles are bad quality. Cover is thin and flimsy.
