Super light ultrabook with big screen
I bought the new LG Gram 16” laptop for work use and have had it a few days, and so far I really love it. I shopped for a long time before deciding on the gram, and considered the Lenovo x1 carbon and the dell xps 13, as well as the new MacBook m1.My criteria was top performance for business use (email, excel, word, PowerPoint, etc), light and portable for travel, and a good display. The gram ticked all the boxes. The x1 carbon hasn’t released the 11th gen processor yet, and I really wanted an 11th gen i7 evo chip for instant start up.The dell looked great but ultimately I felt the screen was too small for me, and only the 13” has the 11th gen in xps so far.So having a 16” screen and being under 3lbs the gram was my choice. The styling is understated, and not at all flashy. At first you might think it’s plastic, but I believe it is magnesium and has a nice metal feel. Keyboard is responsive and I like the trackpad. I’m a big fan of lg displays, across TVs and monitors and this one is also great. Colors are rich although it is glossy and not matte.Start up times are the fastest I’ve ever experience. It’s only 3 or 4 seconds from being off, pushing the button to being logged in and ready to go. The finger print scanner is fantastic and accurate. This is the consumer version, as the lg business side still seems to be on 10th gen, so you’ll need to pay for the upgrade to 10 pro if you need to join a domain for work.Ports are also a big plus here, many laptops don’t have hdmi in this thin form factor.Overall very impressed with lg so far.

Greatest Windows Laptop I've Ever Used!
As someone who uses a dedicated desktop (custom built) for Software Development and a MacBook pro 16, I needed a good windows laptop to use on the go and when I go into the office. This laptop is amazing, trust me. I am insanely picky and this laptop checks every box. I got it renew from amazon for $768.99 and for that price you can't beat it. I will say for the full retail price it may not be worth it. The performance is great but not worth $1500. The laptop Is very light and the screen is amazing! The keyboard is one of the best I've used except for a slightly weird layout. The key travel is amazing. All I can say is this is well worth it. My model is the 16 inch black, i7 16gb 256gb. Also it has 2 m.2 slots so you can upgrade the storage. Ram in not upgradable but I doubt you'll need more than that. I mostly write and compile code and do some photoshop. I haven't video edited with it but I would be surprised if this machine can't hang. Just an FYI my $2500 MacBook pro 16inch 2019 and this almost get the same geekbench score and obviously my windows desktop destroys it but to be expected. Solid laptop and the battery life is insane as well. also the 16 inch has the form factor of a 15 inch laptop. If you are thinking about it do it. You won't be upset and if you are return it lol Good luck!

Works as well as the Dell XPS 9500 it is replacing
The review below is on how this laptop fits my purposes: Work (Excel/Powerpoint/SQL/Python), web browsing, media conssumption and light photo editing. Said differently: I don't need a rig. With the use case in mind I love this laptop because:GOOD STUFF- Though massive, it is incredibly light, hence very portable- i7/16GB RAM and Iris+ make this very a very capable machine for my intended use- 16:10 ratio: Thank you LG, I finally could pull the trigger- Resolution and real estate. A lot fits into the screen, even at 125% magnification- Super "calm" understated look - I dig the gram branding on the lid- Much less wobble than previous generations, it does not feel flimsy at all- Very, I mean VERY good trackpad- A small detail, but the function key to disable the trackpad is priceless when you are using a mouse but still typing on the laptopWHY I DEDUCTED ONE STAR STUFF- The keyboard is stiff. Not terrible but very noticable. I find myself making quite a few errors as I am swithching the super fluid XPS 9500 keyboard- Glossy screen. It already is not super bright (300-330 nits vs XPS' 500 nits) and it is not a touch screen. Why make it so glossy? It really interferes with your sight especially daytime with a light/bright background- Both charging ports are on one side. May be OK for some, but my outlet is to my right when I work with the laptop actually on my lap. Maybe nitpicking here but it is annoying.- RAM no longer upgradeable. Previous 15.6 allowed swapping, this is soldered on.- TERRIBLE speakers- Zero support on drivers on LG site as of this reviewOverall, if you get a good deal and have eyes that are no longer as good as they were and can't get away with a 13" ultrabook, this is your guy / gal.NOTE: After Windows update I lost sound. In the drivers and control panel details everything looked fine and showed "working properly". This is a common issue. Solution is to uninstall the audio driver and restart the computer. It then automatically reloads.

Thrilled with my 2021 LG Gram 16!
I needed a notebook with a larger screen and keyboard that was still light. The LG Gram 16 got solid reviews but I was not able to find it locally to check it out. On a leap of faith I bought it... and I am thrilled with it. It is so light that you'd think it was an empty display unit! The keyboard is comfortable, the screen is beautiful, and the selection of ports is great. It is very quick and responsive, and battery life covers the whole day. I purchased the black model and the keyboard is quite readable even without the backlighting... but the backlight is great. The maximum brightness for the screen is quite bright, but some might find that the max brightness on other notebooks is a step or two brighter... this works beautifully for me but I wanted to mention that for any for whom that could make a difference. I work in a bright room and run it a click or two below max, and it is great. I considered the 2-in-1 version (for the touchscreen) but my top priority was weight so I went with the regular (non-touch) Gram. That was the right choice for me. Have recommended it to friends and would make the same purchase in a heartbeat.
