I bought this vent mount as an alternative to my dash mount because the sun was causing my phones to overheat during the summer days while I charge and use my phone for navigation at the same time. Carmilo's vent mount kit came in a pouch that fits everything you need (there are also enough room to fit in a 2 port car charger I got separately). The clipping mechanism ensures the mount can be clip to the vent securely and won't fall off when driving. The mount also allows you to tighten up around the "ball bearing" so it doesn't flip or wobble around when you hit a bump or turn on the road. The product came with 2 magnets, 1 in rectangular shape and another in a circular shape. Both magnets are very light and thin. I tested the car mount with the rectangular magnet sandwiched between my IPhone 6 Plus and the phone case without any issue. I drove my car around some bumps and tried some quick turns and my phones never moved or wobble around from side to side (or up and down for that matter). One thing to note: my IPhone 6 Plus was too heavy for vents that flips up and down. My phone simply would not stay in an upright position because the weight of the phone was pulling the vents down to a viewing angle that simply did not provide the driver with optimal view in the car. However, this mount works perfectly if you have a vent that moves left and right. I recommend making sure your car has vents that moves left and right in order to help your phone stay in place if you have a heavier phone like mine.

magnets arent really strong enough to hold the phone. It jumps off going over bumps. Fishing around on the floor is dangerous, as it having your phone under the pedals.

Loved the idea of this product but two issues... first, since it attaches to your vent, it makes your phone way too hot or cold when the heat or air conditioning is used. Second, after a few months of use, one of the gripping arms broke. I superglued it back. Then a while later, the other arm snapped. So I glued it back. Now I’m just in a process of re-super glueing it over and over again so I decided to write a review. (See the glue marks in the photo I added.)When I see cool useful designs like this that are flawed because of quality control, it makes me more sad.

I didn't realize it came with such a handy case! I love it and will be using it when I travel. It's always a challenge to mount your cell phone where you can see the GPS when you rent a car. This should solve the problem - it is compact and will be easy to pack.

If the magnet were 4X more powerful, perhaps it would be OK. As it is, if there is any turbulence (turning a corner, applying the brakes more than just a bit), the phone falls on the floorboard. Sorry, can't recommend it.

The magnets were not strong enough to firmly hold the phone, As a result the phone would end up on the floor.
