Strong Signal and Fast Speeds on a High Floor
Last month I purchased the D-Link AX3000 5G Cellular Gateway for my small business because our office building management company charges too much and the connection wasn't stable. I initially had concerns about signal strength because we are on the 10th floor; however, the AX300 has become an essential networking device. We tested two SIMs from different wireless carriers and both provided strong 5g connections. We haven't experienced any lag or bandwidth issues when multiple employees are simultaneously dialed into video-teleconferences. We also configured the VPN for after hours remote access to our LAN. So far I've only used it in our office but if we all go on a business trip together, then I may take the cellular gateway on the road with us. Overall, the D-Link AX3000's versatility, performance, and reliability have exceeded my expectations, which made it a perfect cellular device choice to meet our video-teleconferencing, remote server access, and other connectivity needs.

Did not work with T-moble 5G Home Internet...
I read a comment from another use that stated they had no issue with T-mobile but was wondering if they were actually on a business plan. From discussions with the T-moble tech support, the answer I got was this device, or rather the sim card issued for their equipment, would not work in this device, and did not with the numerous attempts on my own, including manipulating the APN settings with tech provided info. The business plan Definity will allow for this device to operate but I do not have a business account to verify. I will say that the interface does offer a lot of options for security controls and operations. I was just disappointed that T-mobile does not allow the same options for home users. I would recommend the product for T-mobile small-business users based on the stated data increases and security options.

Could be a great device but lacking and no support!
I have extensive experience with networking and devices so I might be more critical than the average user. It took 3 tries to setup the device with the phone app crashing and and a long unnecessary process. The app/firmware are lacking: -Need to control the notifications for different events, how they are sent, and at what intervals. -Need more control over the failover and return to the main network. -Need to see advanced features remotely when not on the same network. Clicked on the Support link on their website and it's a dead link. Tried to complete the Contact Us form and when you submit that doesn't work too. If I can't get some hope for a firmware and app update I'll be sending this back.

Great affordable little router for setting up OpenWRT
My ITS/CIS Son wanted to set up OpenWRT for his VPN service, and this router was most cost effective option available for him to experiment on. He found only one major issue, you'll need to use a slightly older version browser to do the initial memory reflash, but once that first step was out of the way, the process can be done on any browser, and was easy to do. He recommends this router as a great starting point for someone wanting to use a VPN for their home network, not just per computer. He found the information, appropriate firmware and instructions for redoing the router at openwrt.org. Migration to using it as a VPN router was a relatively simple, step by step process, and well documented on the OpenWRT website. Setting up the VPN side was covered on the VPN provider's websites, so for whicher brand/service you choose you can find what you need to make it work smoothly on an enabled router. For roughly $30, it was a great buy, and wasn't a huge risk if somehow the router gets bricked. I think the lower price is because D-Link ceased DIR-2640 production a while ago, and product support of this model ended in June, but that doesn't mean the router is dead to the world; to the contrary, he'll probably get several years of good use out of it before it is ready for our local electronics recycling center. :-)

Reliable and Convenient for 5g
Everything has been great so far, however, it would be nice if it came with the ability to attach an external antenna. It is way more reliable and convenient than using smart phone tethering.

Don't buy it, it's flaky!
Piece of unreliable junk. I've had it less than 2 years and it's already getting completely flaky. And the is besides that all the devices it's connected to are less than 15 feet away, in the same room and I have it mounted high for maximum range.
