CarharttMen's Buffalo Sandstone Meshback Cap

is this hat actually black or is it more of a charcoal grey? I purchased a different style Carhartt hat in black but the hat was a grey color.

And also do they high on the crown

What color is the "soft blue"? Does it appear white?

How would you recommend cleaning/washing this hat with no damage?
