Debí haberle hecho caso a un review que decía que esta cosa no sirve para ladridos agudos de perros tipo chihuahua. El ladrido se oye en TODA la casa, pero raramente es detectado por el dispositivo. Lo intenté con otro perro, y tampoco lo detecta! Parece que tiene que estar muy cerca de la fuente de sonido, y además ser un ladrido de tono particular. Gasto de dinero!

We've waited a few days to write this as we wanted to make sure it was "for real". And it is!!!Backstory: we have a very happy and energetic 2 year old lab. She is an outside dog as she was born on a farm and we would rather not have her inside (she has a building outside, a crate in the garage, gets walked every day, and has a huge yard with lots of squirrels and frogs). She also hates being inside the house (it scares her) so she's an outside doggy. She has a ton of energy and usually runs 4-9 miles with me every day. As she was growing up, we purchased a bark collar for her. It worked well and she stayed pretty quiet at night. I think we purchased 4 or 5 collars total (they die eventually). I bought the last one in February. It just didn't work anymore. I think she had become immune to the shock or just didn't care. She is also very smart and figured out that if she shook her head enough, she could jimmy the battery and the collar would stop working.We were at our wits end 2 weeks ago. Lots of stress at both of our jobs and her barking at night was not helping. We started crating her at night in the garage. Luckily, she loves the crate so she would go to sleep easily in there. But, we knew the garage would get too hot soon and the frogs have been appearing in the backyard (did I mention how much she LOVES to bark at frogs? Especially at 3 AM??). I told the hubby that I was going to try something new. He was doubtful and so was I, but we had to do something. Even after a 9 mile run and lots of time spent in the backyard with her (I'm redoing the landscaping), she was still barking at night.I ordered the bark control birdhouse. Correction, I ordered the MIRACLE bark control birdhouse! The first night we put it up and looked at each other doubtfully. I turned it on (as I said we have a big backyard so it's on the highest level). Immediately, Daisy knew what was up. Her hackles raised, she barked a few times, whined, and then - sat down and shut up. It was AMAZING.We have had it on for 4 nights now (we shut it off as soon as we're up and only turn it on around 10 PM or so). She barked one time over by our bedroom window the other night and I didn't think the birdhouse would reach there - but it did! She shut up immediately.I'm sure some folks have a different story, but my crazy lab Daisy is much less crazy at 3 AM because of this device. We will be looking into rechargeable batteries for it very soon. We are also hopeful that we won't need to have it on in the future because she will know not to bark so much at night.Buy it!!!! It will change your life!!!! And your sleep!!!!

We installed the PetSafe Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent two weeks ago and it's made a big difference. We have two dogs and live opposite a park. When people with dogs arrive at the park, our dogs run to the gate and bark, something we deal with as we are home most of the time. We've always been good neighbours and sensitive to the people next door who don't like dogs barking (even small amounts). This device has deterred the barking and now our dogs sit quietly by the gate and still enjoy the passing people and dogs.

I purchased this to deter my 2 dos from barking at people that pass near our yard. The first little while they winced a bit and looked at the unit. I followed the instructions about turning it off when we were not home and on again when we were home. It has not worked at all in the long run. They now just bark standing right in front of it (and yes, the batteries are good). I would not recommend this product as it has done nothing to help my dogs stop barking. And both the seller and the manufacturer will not take it back and return my money. Certainly not a well-spent $65 plus taxes and shipping. Will not buy anything again from either this seller or any Petsafe product. Not good customer service.
