4' X 6' Ultra Plush Non-Slip Rug Pad for Hard Surfaces and Carpet

This is a quality product. We experienced no strange smells. The item was packaged rolled up and doubled over, but rolled out flat with no problems. The seller included usage instructions with the product. This has a rubberized grippy material on one side and a soft wooly material on the other. Instructions are to use the grippy side down on hard surfaces and the wooly side down on top of carpet. Worked great for us and has stayed in place during a week of 4 kids playing every game imaginable on the new carpet. It is not particularly thick or particularly soft, but it made a fairly thin area rug feel normal and not slide around on the floor.One note for future buyers - the literature included with the product says that if you know the exact dimensions of your carpet, you can contact the seller to have your pad cut to exact size. We ended up trimming ours (which was easy) as we didn't have the carpet yet when we ordered the pad. But this info will hopefully benefit some who know what exact size they need.

The rug pad is a great addition to the 8x10 area rug in our den. It makes it even more soft and plush feeling and there is no sliding of the rug. I do wish this company had asked what size my rug was and had cut the pad 1.5" smaller. I had to take it to a local carpet store to have that done. I was ignorant about such things but in ordering pads for runners in my hall from another company, they asked what size the rugs were and recommended a different size than what I'd ordered so that they could cut them 1.5" smaller than the rugs. They explained that the rug would wear unevenly if the pad was too much smaller than the rug and if the same size it would be hard to allow for small differences and to get the rug set properly to cover all edges of the pad.

This is a nice pad but I would not call it ultra plush. I think the plushiness will depend a lot on the type of rug you put on it. I have a Safavieh Lyndhurst synthetic rug on it. The rug is thin but soft and pile density is ok but not like a quality wool rug. With the pad under this rug on hardwood floor the rug feel "pretty nice" but I would not describe it as plush. I have a high quality wool rug form Ikea with dense pile, thick fibers and good pile height and the same pad under that rug feels totally plushy. So this pad will make a cheap rug feel not cheap and kind of nice. It will make a quality rug feel luxurious and plush. So 4 stars because it does not make EVERY rug feel ultra plush but good price on Amazon.

Reasonable price, came quickly. I have these under two area rugs. they don't slide easily on the wood floor, and the rugs don't seem to slip off the pad. Nice thickness, makes the rug feel more substantial. I had to trim off the sides, but the length could have been longer. for others choosing a pad, I recommend going with a size that is larger than your rug and trimming ends and sides as needed. Didn't take off stars for this, as it was my mistake

I love this rug pad. I purchased an area rug to go over ceramic tile in our family room, and it slid around a lot and was just too thin over the hard tile. This rug is rubber on one side, felt on the other. It's only 1/4 inch thick, and provides the perfect amount of cushion without being so think that you trip over the edge of the rug. The rubber keeps it firmly in place. The size was perfect for my rug, no trimming necessary. And I think it will extend the life of the rug, too. Great purchase!

This worked very well, and I think its price was good. The rubber backing sticks well to the floors and the upper part is textured well enough to secure the Persian carpet in place. The pad itself is thick enough to cushion foot falls and protect the carpet. If you need to trim the pad, you will need some good heavy duty scissors, because the combination of thickness and materials makes cutting it difficult otherwise.

Really excellent. I bought this to put under a 5x8 rug in my son's room. The rug is on a hardwood floor, which made it not so comfortable to sit on. This rug pad worked perfectly. It keeps the rug in place and it really does add some much needed cushion. Now, we can comfortably lay on the floor to play and read books. It definitely increased the comfort and value of my rug and I would recommend it.
