I bought this for my son's birthday. So I have waited to find out how he liked it. The ghost flavor was his favorite and the others he said were just OK. So there you have it.

Purchased as a gift for my daughter, who was momentarily a bit overwhelmed with her children and grandchild. She's into spicy foods and was experimenting with various chilies. This assortment really made her happy. Her comment: "These six bottles and a few bottles of wine, and all is right and beautiful with the world."I have personally sampled some of the individual flavors in this collection and can vouch for the heat and taste.

The stuff has too much vinegar and no taste. The heat is moderate to sharp but dissipates within a minute. Don't recommend them.

Cranky Rooster hot sauces:I tried 6 different flavors of the Cranky Rooster hot sauces. I was very impressed with the ingredient list on these sauces, the main ingredient in each was in fact the pepper and there was very minimal filler or preservatives. Listed below from least spicy to most spicy, are the sauces I tried:JalapeñoChipotleHabaneroScotch BonnetTrinidad ScorpionGhost PepperNow, I really enjoy spicy sauces and foods so when I say that the first two are not very spicy, you may want to stay cautious... The Jalapeño sauce has a wonderful flavor and just a little bit of spice, I found this sauce absolutely perfect for my morning eggs. You won't be disappointed. The chipotle sauce has a nice smokey flavor that you'd expect from a chipotle pepper and the sauce has a little bit more kick than the Jalapeño. Excellent choice on breakfast burritos! I've always loved the flavor of Habanero peppers and this Cranky Rooster Habanero sauce does not disappoint, great amount of heat. (It'll get your sinuses flowing if you're not used to spicier foods!) Now, if you're not into the spicy stuff, the Habanero is about as hot as you'll want to go, the last three on the list are strictly for those who are well initiated with the way of the spice. Scotch Bonnet, definitely a huge step above the Habanero in terms of heat. The flavor of this sauce is a bit more on the tangy side of things and works very well with chicken dishes (scotch bonnet peppers are often used in Jerk Chicken recipes). Trinidad Scorpion, this is one hot pepper! The Trinidad Scorpion sauce is so hot just a fingertip of the stuff got my lips and tongue burning (just like I like it!) I found this sauce works extremely well with soup broths and was the perfect way to add some extra heat and flavor to those cheap ramen noodle packs! I almost felt like I was eating a wonderfully prepared spicy noodle dish from a Tai Restaurant! Last up, the Ghost pepper sauce. This is the spiciest of the bunch, and boy it sure did deliver a wonderful ghost pepper flavor along with all that heat. I've always been fond of the ghost pepper flavor and this sauce is excellent, be warned, a little of this goes a long way, you don't need much to really make a spicy dish. Also keep in mind the heat tends to be an additive, the more you eat the hotter it gets! Just like the Trinidad Scorpion sauce, this one works very well in broths for noodles and it also works exceptionally well with indian cuisine, take a bottle with you on your next trip to your favorite indian food restaurant and kick up the spice on your Chicken Tika Masala when the chef doesn't make it hot enough for you or try your hand at making your own, and see how authentic your flavor becomes!Overall, the Cranky Rooster sauces are an excellent choice for the connoisseur of hot sauces and make a great gift! This set of hot sauces from Crazy Rooster is amazing! Just for background, my husband loves spicy food and uses hot sauce like other people use ketchup. He loves every one of these sauces. A couple of the hotter one's he has to use very sparingly.I like a bit of spice, but not too much. I do cook with chili peppers and I often leave the seeds in. Some say I prefer spice, but not compared to my husband. I usually do not like bottled hot sauce very much. The reason is that usually it tastes too much like vinegar for my preference. Don't get me wrong, I love me some balsamic vinegar. I just do not like hot sauce to taste too much like vinegar. These do not. For most, I notice more of a fruity flavor and the featured chili flavor. They do contain vinegar, but the flavor is well balanced.During a game night party, some friends tried the sauces on tortilla chips. The friends who do not like super hot spice did like the chipotle and jalapeno pepper sauces. Some commented that they like that the flavor is not too strongly of vinegar. Not many liked the hotter sauces in the range, only the toughest chili lovers did. I think this set is a wonderful gift for someone who likes very hot sauces or for a couple (one likes hot, one moderate). If someone likes moderate spice, they will probably like three of the six. If someone likes super hot they might like all six or just the spiciest three.I love how Cranky Rooster color codes these hot sauces. The hottest have one color of wrapping on the bottle's neck while the more moderate have a different color. On the back, they give a star rating of the heat intensity. So far, their ratings all ring true.I am impressed with this collection and will write individual reviews when I get a chance.I received this set of six hot sauces to review.
