I realized that a wrist strap would probably be better for me
When I found myself wrapping the neckstrap of my DSLR around my wrist all the time, I realized that a wrist strap would probably be better for me. This one works great. The strap is thick and sturdy-feeling, and once you get it attached to your camera, there's no extra material flapping around. I carry a Canon Rebel SL1, so it's very small and light for a DSLR, and dangles from my wrist almost unnoticeably. I have enough slack in the strap to hold and operate the camera comfortably, and it cinches down when I let the camera hang. The camera hangs within reach of your fingers, but out of the way if you want to use that hand for something (be careful about whacking it into door handles and railings because you forgot it was there!) I am so much happier when not dealing with a neck strap making me hot or interfering with hair, scarves, necklaces, and purse straps, and it takes a lot less room in a bag without a big neck strap to stuff in.The little black line stitched into the midpoint of the green strap is a stopper, so it only cinches so tight, to avoid strangling your hand completely. It might not tighten all the way on people with freakishly tiny wrists, but it should still be small enough to not slip over their hand.

works great even with a heavy Canon 5Dm3 with grip!
It is very heavy duty feeling. I would even feel ok swinging that big heavy camera around by it. The auto-tightening catch is nice when I did actually drop my camera when it was knocked out of my hand. My only gripe is a minor one: it is very difficult to get your hand out of the strap without using your other hand, especially after it has auto-tightened (which means you usually have to put the camera down somewhere to do it). This almost seems silly to complain about, but part of the reason for choosing a minimal strap like this is to be able to rapidly change how you might use the camera (over your head, on the floor, on a tripod, hand to someone else for a quick self-shot, etc).

Joby JB01274-PWW DSLR Wrist Strap (Green)
I wanted a wrist strap to use with my Sony NEX 6 instead of the neck strap that came with it. there were quit a few wrist straps options that I looked at on Amazon, but none of them seem to be up to the task of holding the weight of my camera securely. then I saw the Joby wrist strap .when it arrived it looked smaller (thinner) than I thought it would be. but when I put it into use though it proved to be the prefect solution to what I wanted.my only niggle is that the wrist opening is a little tight for my big hand and if I did drop my camera it might hurt my wrist. but at the same time this proves to be a plus for when I use a tripod, I can secure the strap around the neck of said tripod to ensure that if for some reason I haven't tighten the quick release enough, my camera wont fall off onto the ground. one of the reasons I purchased it in this color is in low light situations it can be clearly seen, weather I'm getting my camera out of my bag, or I'm securing it to my tripod and or wrist. there's less of a chance of me dropping this camera now.

Great Value and Design
This strap is a quick and easy way to provide accidental-drop protection for an expensive camera and lens. I leave it attached to the camera at all times, and make sure I slip my hand through it whenever I take the camera out of the bag. I leave it on my wrist until I get the camera connected to the BlackRapid shoulder strap or onto the tripod. If the camera is on my monopod, I still leave the strap around my wrist. One has the choice of leaving the strap loose or snugging it to the wrist. When it is left loose, it will cinch snugly around the wrist, and not fall off the wrist, if the camera is dropped. The strap allows for complete freedom of movement to allow the fingers to access all the controls as if the strap were not even there. (I tried two of the other kind of straps that hold the back of the user's hand/knuckles when the hand grasps the camera, and both hindered the access to all controls if they were tight enough to securely hold the camera.)

Good simple wrist strap, does the trick
This does exactly what it needs to do...it keeps your camera connected to your wrist. I will occasionally shoot sports with my 70-200mm attached to my D750, and I don't always like to have my BlackRapid strap around me while I'm doing it. This strap at least provides me with a little peace of mind that if the camera does somehow slip out of my hand, I should be able to save it from hitting the ground. That being said, I haven't dropped my camera while using this strap, so who knows if it will even hold? Not like I'm going to try it on purpose though...

Excellent except for wrist loop design
Excellent quality materials but the design is annoying in that the loop around the wrist tightens when you don't want it to. This makes it difficult to take off and put on because it slows you down when speed is often critical for getting the best shot.

Makes it almost impossible to drop your gear, convenient, stays out of the way!
Easily the best hand strap to keep your camera secure while not taking up a huge amount of space or being cumbersome like most neck straps.Neck straps have always been a pain to me. They rarely wind up around my neck, and they usually just wind up getting in the way. These are great for those of us who like to carry our cameras in our hands, but they also work if you use a monopod for extra security in knowing that you're not going to drop your pricey gear.We also use different color Jobys to identify cameras so we don't have to mark them, just a side benefit.I recommend these to every new/experienced photographer. They're small, lightweight, they very securely attach your camera to your wrist and make it pretty much impossible to drop your gear. Love it.

Muy útil.
Muy útil, cumple su cometido, muy segura. Lo único que no me ha gustado tanto ha sido el color, muy chillón, pensaba que era algo más apagado. Si lo llego a saber hubiera elegido la negra.

Good and effective camera wrist strap
My Canon EOS DSLR came with a logo emblazoned 40mm width neck strap which was always in the way and bulky. My old Canon F-1 SLR came with a 10mm neck strap which worked well - and it was a much heavier camera, as film cameras were!So the Joby was purchased to replace the original 40mm strap and as I am right handed it was fitted to the right hand lug. I found no trouble in attaching the Joby and no difficulty in passing my hand through the loop in its wide open mode.I take an 8 1/2 glove so my hands are not large. The sliding y-piece lock works well and fits snugly if the camera drops. The camera is very easy to use with the strap in place and offers no encumbrance to the camera operation.A very good, well made and designed product. Highly recommended.

Worth buying for advanced and pros.
Comes very handy when operating on threepod - no extra fuss with long neck strap. Should be a bit longer for male adults with bigger hands - needs two hands to unwrap.
