Tasty
The Kona Coffee brand name is highly protected by the state of Hawaii, establishing several grades and packaging requirements. A pound of 100% Kona Coffee will cost $40 or more. Outside the state of Hawaii, packaging has no such requirements to conform to. So who do you trust? Did CBD actually use Kona Coffee Beans? The packaging doesn't even say 10% Kona Beans which is the minimum requirement to classify it as a Kona blend. Well, this coffee smells nice, grinds well, is highly aromatic while brewing, and is smooth and tasty enough for my morning 32 ounce cup of coffee that I drink black with nothing added. For that, it is probably worth paying the price over what is currently made available in the major grocery stores these days.

3 bad bags in a row, means I'm done...
I've been a Coffee Bean Direct (CBD) fan for a few years, but they just lost a long time customer. The last 3 bags of coffee I've received have been trash, 2 Colombian Supremo and one Kona blend. The coffee tastes like nothing, I couldn't even get it to run through my Bunn without grinding on the biggest grind. It ends up with a slew of chaff and bland coffee.I've received bags of coffee that had a bad roast and you power through it or never go back to the brand. I've never had this from CBD though. So I was much dismayed after 3 bags of the same.I even contacted CBD directly, the worst part was they offered me $5 off a $50 bag of coffee if I bought from them directly! I just spent $150 on 3 bags of horrid coffee, i've been a customer of theirs spending about $50/month on their coffee for over 3 years...and their response is spend another $50 and we will give you $5 off? Haha...yeah it was a good run. I'm out.I cannot support a company with no customer service.

Coffee Bean Direct, Hawaiian Kona Blend, 5 lb bag
Coffee Bean Direct, has a wonderful product here with their Hawaiian Kona Blend whole bean coffee. After a vacation, I was looking around for a similar taste to what I remembered from my trip. And the Coffee Bean Direct's Hawaiian Kona Blend fit the bill. The price is something to enjoy without breaking the bank, and the flavour and mellow taste makes me think vacation has come again. I enjoy it so much that I turned a doctor friend on to Hawaiian Kona Blend, and it is now used as the office coffee. I can't say enough good things about Coffee Bean Direct and Amazon's prices to make what some people would consider a large purchase at 5 pounds, to really make sense. But if you look at this by a per cup cost it is really a good value for a GREAT product. Try it today, save some money by ordering it through the grocery subscription service.

Flavorless
We have been dark roast and medium roast buyers because we liked the flavor. But thought we’d try a light roast because of purported caffeine strength. So t notice any difference in energy punch but this coffee is flavorless. Twice the cost. Wouldn’t buy again.

Very Tastey Coffee
I had Kona coffee at the fast food place (with the clown head) and loved it. I know it had to be a blend. Then I tried a 1 lb bag of a kona blend from another brand and it was horrible.I was nervous about the coffee direct because it was 5 lbs, but I love it.15 second grind with a lid full on my little krupps blade grinder and a double espresso thru my aero press. I'll definitely be buying more. The extra beans are going in food saver vacuum bags and canisters to keep them fresh.
