Anatomy Demystified Paperback – June 15, 2004

Purchased for finals as a reference sheet. I found it to be helpful continually would buy again.

With such a great experience with other books in this series, I picked up Anatomy Demystified (AD) and Physiology Demystified (PD) for my first semester in A&P. I had certainly read the other reviews, recognized potential weaknesses of the books, and decided to order them anyway.I'm glad I did. Yes, the book (so far) comes across as REALLY dumbed-down. (The pronunciation guide helps you with "mammals" and "gross," for pete's sake.) Yes, the diagrams are quite cartoonish. In addition, the book sticks to the major themes and misses a lot that a textbook would provide.That said, A&P will be one of the most information-packed courses I have yet to take, and I've found AD and PD immensely useful for processing it all. Most importantly, the system of approach is readily followable, and the silly anecdotes and etymological bases provide effective mnemonics.I would heartily recommend this book, though only for a high school-level study of anatomy or as a supplement to a more detailed textbook.

I enjoy using these books to fight brain rot, not to get a degree or become an expert. The organization allows me to learn a bit more about what I want to learn more about, and sometimes to realize that a field is not for me. The Anatomy book has a few blips that were off-putting for me such as the author using a baby character to make asides, but overall the book introduced major human body systems in digestible chunks. I enjoy the chapter/quiz section/test set up and see no reason why a moderately motivated person can not score 100% throughout and get a nice ego boost. Perhaps this might be useful for a student who is unsure about advanced classes in the future in order to get a confidence boost.

Who doesn't need help with anatomy? This book was very helpful. I finished anatomy over I year ago and I still review this book to keep everything fresh.

I have a few of the other books from the demystified series that I really like. That is what made me order this one. This one, however, is not quite the same as the others. It serves its purpose as a tool for reviewing what is taught in Human Anatomy, but the other titles that I have in this series have more of a self teaching style. That is what I was hoping for in this one.

Overall, the book was in GOOD condition when I got it and the price for the book was cheap and affordable. The books explains the human anatomy in a decent and simple way so that you can understand it clearly. Recommend this book to anyone that wants to get better understanding of the human anatomy.

I bought the medical terminology first, and I liked it so much i bought this anatomy book too! It really helps you to learn and memorize stuff you want to learn. The book is thick and there’s many lesson you’re going to learn.

This is such a good book for self teaching! A little bit cheesy but I personally don't mind, it helps to make it a bit more entertaining and memorable. They don't assume that you know things, but not in a patronising way. Also the pronounciation guide is so useful so you don't have to worry about looking stupid when you talk to someone who knows the subject.
