We are that confident that these boards are better than anything else out there! This is a new product for us - a pastry board/bread making board. A relative has asked me to make a pastry board for her and to duplicate an antique one that she had. Her old one was falling apart and splitting because it was held together with screws and nails. However, the design was very smart. Once the piece was done I was really happy with it and had a few requests for more. The great thing about it is that it allows you to work your bread dough or pastry dough around without the board moving, because of the lip in front ( the lip allows drawers below to open and close as they normally would, btw - it does not get in the way ). That same lip acts as a dam at the back of the board to keep your work from falling/rolling off the back. When you are done, or need to work something else, wipe it off, flip it, and away you go! This piece will literally last you a lifetime. The lips are bound front and back with a thin strip of walnut that is both functional and aesthetic - see pictures.
