Great for a novice sushi maker who aspires to be Jiro
My husband has in the past two years gotten into Sushi making and is getting pretty good at it. He watched "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" on Netflix and found his new Sushi Hero. He's been obsessed ever since. This book was the perfect gift for him. It's descriptive of the sushi making processes, has lots of amazing pictures of sushi, and even has recipes for the best way to cook sushi rice. Such a great book!

For sushi lovers
If you like finding out the behind the scenes stories of things you like and you like sushi, then this is the book for you. It has in depth info about sushi prep by one of the masters of the trade. Plus, there are stories relating to the sushi industry and Jiro's restaurant that are quite interesting as well. Highly recommended.

I rarely write reviews, but this is just a lovely, mouthwatering and insightful book about sushi. Whatever the cost, buy. It will give an amazing insight in the minute details of fish and rice.

Well worth the buy!
In many ways this could be considered the Bible for Edomae sushi from it’s greatest practitioner. Beautiful pictures, detailed descriptions, thoughtful explanations. No stone unturned.

good
Husband is a chef. He asked for this for Christmas. Arrived on time. He likes it. I wish he'd make more sushi, though.

A book all chefs should own
This book is amazing for people that want to learn about sushi. It's fantastic for a chef who appreciates more than just pictures. A whole lot of great knowledge by the best. JIRO

mixed feelings
This both is both impressive and depressingIt is impressive because of it's extensive information on preparation, fish, and large quantity of photosIt is depressing because the cover is that but on a white cover lolthe formatting is also really clusteredThe layout and that lame gradient vector shape cover is such a turn off

Very detailed book from the Best
This is very good book, for those who are very passionate about sushi this book has everything and is very detailed , it tells you about Jiro ono, tell u a lot about Edomae sushi, traditional techniques, which seasons are for which fish, there a massive section tuna. There is technique tutorials.I would say if your just want simple home sushi recipes this might not be the book for you, as there it Too much details and not enough tutorial information for that purpose. If your really passionate about edomae sushi and maybe wish to be a future sushi chef ? this is the book for you.Further recommendsEdomae sushi is also a good bookThe size(not pages) was a little smaller than expected but does not fall short on information and actually makes this book more portable to travel
