SunsOut Soda Fountain, 1000 Piece

Ok, I’m dating myself, but remember when department stores, drug stores, and dime stores had NICE soda fountain counters where you could get a root beer float or a hot dog? I do miss the simpler times where quality and the whole experience of being there mattered. This puzzle certainly brought back memories.

I really like Susan Brabeau's art for puzzles and I'm happy to see this one with 1,000 pieces. They usually come in 500-750 pieces. The picture is crisp and colorful, making pieces easy to identify and it's just as bright as the box shows. I hate it when the picture looks great but the puzzle itself is much darker, losing the colors. The box is 12"x12" so the picture is easy to see. I did find a few pieces where the picture was seperating from the cardboard but a drop of glue quickly fixed that. It happens to all puzzles so it won't shy me away from Sunsout. Will it stand up to being done over and over again? I sure hope so because I really enjoyed putting it together.

I love puzzles featuring The art work of Susan Brabeau. I enjoyed the vintage Soda Fountain scene and the fun characters portrayed in the picture. This puzzle was challenging!What made it more so, was the fact that the pieces fit very loosely together. It was hard to move sections of the puzzle to their proper locations. I do wish that the puzzles pieces were of a better quality and fit together more tightly.

Disappointing to get this beautiful puzzle finished only to have a piece missing. I returned it along with another puzzle that had 2 pieces missing, 2 duplicate pieces and an uneven poorly cut edge.

We really enjoyed this puzzle. The pieces are cut in many different shapes and the image is fun to work out. It does not come with a poster, but the box is a decent size so we used that for reference when needed.
