Could anyone post a picture of the installed insulation?

How many boxes i need to cover my ford transit 350 extended cargo van, but in a very strategic way.

You would need 5 boxes of material to cover the floor (apply long narrow strips in between the ribs), double the layer on the rear wheel wells (from interior side), apply long narrow strips to the roof from the interior side and apply some to the wall panels, specifically to the sheet metal tiles in between the ribs-columns. You would need an additional box for the cab if you decide to soundproof it as well. It is worth mentioning that you'd need to do 100% coverage on the floor, roof if you are after maximum effect as those are the most important areas. Make sure to roll every piece of it with a roller and clean/degrease the surface prior to installation. Wear gloves!

Would this work under the hood?

Kilmat has a working temperature from - 49 degrees to 212 degrees F with allowance for only short term heating of up to 392 degrees F. We recommend using our material when installed under the hood in combination with a hood liner type of material (acoustic foam) to protect it from excessive heat (if any) and to add the additional insulation. The first layer that goes on a hood metal would be Kilmat 80 mil material The second layer on top of Kilmat 80 mil would be hood liner type of material. We are sorry, but we do not carry hood liner materials.

I have a 1968 Mustang the exhaust is pretty loud can I double the insulation how much less noise will this have on exhaust

The exhaust on my '79 Camaro is pretty loud too behind 400hp. This 80mil should be thick enough. You'll want to cover 100% of the floor board and make sure you cover under and behind the back seat and also up the sides of the inner quarter panels. I used a precut heavy underlayment layer on top of this Kilmat, then the carpet of course. The layers I have tamed the exhaust decibels inside the car tremendously. My car's interior was never this quiet before the restoration.
