Be patient
Initially, this new pump was far noisier than my old AC pump it replaced. I was not happy. I contacted Sicce and they told to give it a couple of weeks to break in, but it was still quite noisy at that point. It took a good 4 weeks before it quieted down to an acceptable level for a DC pump.
