Rain-X 9438X Compact 8" Squeegee

Good Item. International Delivery but the price over hall pay high.

The so-called rubber on this squeegee is like hard plastic. If you can use a plastic ruler to wipe your window, this is the squeegee for you. I wonder if in the past they used a flexible rubber which would have been great because this item is nice and compact) but then switched to hard "rubber" because it's cheaper. Anyway this item is fundamentally useless and too cheap to bother returning.

I noticed if I flipped it and squeegeed upsidedown it worked better. I looked to see how to remove the rubber and saw screws holding it shut. I took out the screws only on the rubber side, while leaving the mesh sponge side screwed shut (You don't want to mess with the sponge side coming out in case it's hard to get back in). I pulled the rubber out of the gap, flipped it over, slid it back in, then screwed it back shut on the rubber side (there's a groove towards the edge on top and bottom where the rubber will lock into so it will stay pretty snug). It took less than five minutes, and that includes the time to find the screwdriver lol. It's a little wiggly when you flip the rubber over, but it's not coming out, so I'm happy with it. Easy to open, extend, close, and it's compact for small storage spaces.

This item overall is good but the squeegee is useless, it doesn't take the form of the curved windows. Out of the 8 inches only 2-3 touch the glass... this results in dozens on passes to clear a single car window.

I can't recommend this squeegee. The idea of having one that folds up for convenient storage is a good one, in theory. Unfortunately, it has a nasty habit of folding up while in use. It does that all the time only when attempting to use the squeegee end, not the sponge end. That's enough to make it virtually useless. I'll be shopping for a replacement, and recommend anyone considering this Rain-X squeegee look elsewhere.UPDATE: After only a few weeks of light usage, the handle broke off completely and couldn't be repaired. If I could downgrade the rating to zero stars, I would-- this squeegee is utter junk.
