I've dislocated my patellas several times but April 2015 was the worst yet. I was in a deep lunge and twisted, dislocating my patella both ways. It remained out of place for a few days, maybe even weeks, because I was uninsured and unable to go to a doctor. I did what I could at home and it eventually healed and I taught myself to walk again, 2 months later. Needless to say, it was a traumatic experience.I'm supposed to wear a big hinged brace, but I live in the hot, humid south and that's just not always necessary or comfortable. I knew I was going to a music festival this weekend so I decided to try a patella strap for the first time.At first I wondered what a simple strap could really do, but wow! I am impressed! I walked about 5 miles and my knee had just enough support to where I felt stable and ache-free for the entire 10 hour day! It felt comfortable and did not need adjusting, despite being hot and sweaty, then rained on. The strap is very high quality and the padding feels like a nice thick gel material is inside. Ive had problems with my knee for a couple years now and i have always brushed the pain off because i couldn't stand the full leg brace. This is amazing my knee feels incredible. It doesn't make me sweat! its not bulky or heavy and i can wear it all day long at work with no issues!
