This book has some amazing seal photography, captured with a skillful eye and for maximum effect. For those of us with limited access to seals, it’s a welcome way to enjoy our pinniped friends.This is mostly a picture book, and would be great for children who are - or could be- interested in marine mammals. It’s also wonderful for adults for enjoy seals and want to learn more about them.

I love the pictures, I only wish it came with the stickers the Japanese version came with.

Everyone should learn about Yuki and Arare. They bring happiness to all.

After following the internet stardom of the Kaiyukan Ringed Seals for some time, it's really nice to have these pictures in print to just pop open and look at anytime. I also enjoyed seeing a fair bit of Moya-kun, considering that he hasn't been seen too much since the birth of his son with Arare, Mizore (the two males cannot share the display tank for territorial reasons).In all honesty, I would have liked if the book was a bit bigger to get a bit more definition in the photos, but it still gets a 5 star from me. The hardcover and binding is nice and it's easy to throw on a shelf or take with you and pass around.
