That'll keep them off my porch.
Nothing ruins a lazy day lounging about in only your undergarments like a stranger tapping on your door. How dare they interrupt my privacy to give me some lengthy explanation of why I need something I clearly do not!!! Occasionally you can tell it is a smaller hand knocking on the door and you know what that means! You're either about to be offered cookies or candy as a fundraiser for some little sprout! I wholly encourage these visits. Rush to throw on a shirt and pajama pants and grab my wallet before I throw open that door! As for everyone else, bug off!

It’s thick, it sticks, and nobody has knocked on my door since.
This has been a heavy season for D2D sales. It’s gotten so obnoxious that I turned into my dad and bought a sign. No sales people anymore - but no girls scout cookies either. That last part might be a coincidence and not causation. It may also be because in suburbia, nobody goes door-to-door for cookies anymore; moms instead go to Facebook to sell them or make arrangements to sell them in front of grocery stores. I thought the whole point of that fundraiser was community engagement, but what do I know?I digress, it works great.

I want cookies!
It stuck well on my door, looks good with the black door (even though my door is a little dirty). It's a bit more thin & flimsy than I anticipated (think promotional magnets you get in the mail). I'm hoping no one realizes it's a magnet and tries to steal it!Overall I think it looks good, and will hopefully deter some of the door to door sales people that I want absolutely nothing from!

Not as expected but still serves its purpose well
I should have read reviews first, I added to my order at the last second when a cable guy came to my door and woke up my kids. It is flimsier than I expected and looks like it is metallic (or at least has a metallic sticker) in the picture but it does not, it's just the print of the sticker and much more obvious in person. I gave 4 stars because it's not what I was expecting but it does a good job of sticking in place. I wish the magnet was a tad stronger because my three year old likes to move it but it's strong enough to hold to the door on its own and doesn't curl up at the ends.

Wards off money hungry "flies"
My SIL was getting persistent soliciting from people for lawn care, gutter, roofing, and many other things. She got fed up with being interrupted in the house--especially when she is busy doing chores so went ahead bought this through my Amazon account. This was 4 years ago and since then, she has NOT had a single solicitor knock on the door or ring the doorbell.

Great sign, but you might need some glue.
We get weekly visits from all sorts of solicitors (e.g. offering me new windows for $20,000, asking me to switch cable providers, etc.). I'm a very considerate person, but after putting up with these guys for 5 years, and after realizing that I've never once taken advantage of any of these "special offers", I decided enough was enough.I like this sign because it adds humor to the message (for friends and family) but still gets the message across to solicitors. Great balance for my family and how we want our home to be viewed.HOWEVER: My front door is wood. The surrounding facade is brick. None of this is magnetic, and this product is a magnetic sign. So I had to clean the brick and apply some sturdy, outdoor glue to the back of the sign. No biggie, but you may run into the same issue.

Doesn't stick to my metal door and not "true metallic gold" color
Overall this isn’t a bad item for the price. The reason I didn’t rate it 5* is for the following:- Make sure your door is magnetic. It doesn’t stick to my metal door. I am not sure if it is the type of metal my door is made of or what. It does stick to the side of my fridge indicating it is magnetic. They should mention it won’t stick to some metal doors.- The “Gold Gradient” mentioned in the photos is not metallic gold. It uses a concept called Non-Metallic Metals, which is where you take non-metal colors (in this case yellows and whites) and progress through different shades to get a look that is similar to metallic metal. The intent is to create the illusion that is a metal by imitating how light would reflect off it. This was misleading. If I can’t get this to stick somewhere I am going to return it.

Oh I'm sorry, I didn't see your sign..........
Despite the dimensions being listed in the descriptions, it is profoundly smaller than I could have imagined. Thus, as a deterrent to solicitors, it is not truly effective until they are standing on your doorstep about to knock/ring. It will be interesting to see how many salesmen claim that they did not see it....It is a much gentler message though than many signs you could post - I don't want to be that mean old man up the street, but I am tired of people knocking on my door trying to sell me gutters/windows/tree service/etc, etc; but at same time want to support my civic leaders and their efforts with our youth - so am pleased that I have something to bridge that gap.
