Noteworthy Photographic Illustrations of Each Exercise
Okay, I am super stoked about these fitness training cards. Here's the deal: I'm a longtime athlete (soccer and swimming), and a 42 year old mama of 2 (5 year old boy and 3 year old girl). I figured I was taking a chance when I chose fitness training cards aimed at kids older than mine (pack says "...for kids 9-14") and kind of assumed I'd check them out then file them for use when my kids get older. Totally unnecessary. As any athlete or fitness buff knows, form is of number one importance in order to avoid injury and ensure that we get the most out of our fitness activity. That, in a nutshell is the best thing about these cards: every activity/exercise/drill is accompanied by great photo-examples (of kids, mind you) showing how to do the exercises correctly. That, in itself earns My Trainer Fitness for Kids 5 stars in my book. Ultimately, I want my kids active and it seems, so far, that they are going to be natural athletes. These cards help me help them learn common fitness activities early, and my little visual learners will really appreciate having pictures to help them understand how do position themselves and move in order to avoid injuries from day one. I will adjust the reps to suit their ages, and of course there will be much flexibility in how we go about carrying out our workout routines to avoid early burnout, but I'm excited to get started and will do my best to post an updated review once we've had a few weeks to try the system out. Nice touch in adding a small carabiner (great for holding the cards together if you don't have a binder to keep them in). Great job My Trainer Fitness! 5+ stars so far!

Simultaneously Brilliant and Frustrating
I purchased this item to get myself started with a regular workout routine. I'm very thin and don't need to exercise to lose weight, but I want to maintain an overall level of fitness. Furthermore, I don't want to spend time looking through dozens or even hundreds of exercises to create my own workouts. I want someone who knows what they're doing to save me the time and effort. Finally, I wanted something that could be done at home with little to no equipment.The Good* The workouts themselves are nicely designed and really feel like they were created by a personal trainer. They also kick your butt unless you're already in very good shape. They are good, solid workouts.* The workouts are presented very simply and attractive with one day per card. I love this. I pick up the day's card and go. There's no friction to get started, which helped overcome my procrastination in beginning an exercise program.The Bad* Simplicity is good, but these cards error on the wrong side of the fence. While you are told what exercises to do, when to do them, and in what order, there is a great dearth of information provided on how to perform them. By and large, they are just named. Almost no exercises are explained with actual text. Many are shown with images, but they are small and often unclear. I just did two tonight--high knees and mountain climber--where images are shown but leave one with multiple interpretations of how to perform the action. There was another tonight where it just said to do "Bicycle, 20 ea side." Well, I have an idea of what that might mean, but no picture is provided. It's not very helpful at all to be left guessing on proper form and pacing of each step in the circuit.* The set also treats warm-ups and cool downs very lightly, which I similarly didn't appreciate. For the warm-up, you are told to do side to side lunges, spinal twists, moving hamstring stretches, and so on, but little to no instruction is provided on how to do these movements, not even the lackluster pictures. Cool downs are, I don't think, even mentioned--let alone described in adequate detail to perform.Conclusion: All in all, the workouts themselves are well done. However, for this set to be usable for a fitness beginner like myself, I had to supplement it with looking up exercises using an iPhone app like iFitness. That's unfortunate because it detracts from an otherwise good idea. On a positive note, once you get used to how to perform the exercises, this is less of an issue. I just feel this is a rather important flaw in a product purporting to do what this one does. I would suggest they add one more reference card or two--separate from the daily ones--with better text explanations of how to perform each exercise.

Was able to add this to the bind I had also purchased with beginning exercises... At my work I'm not always able to do these exercise but I am also able to do these at home alos

Challenging Workouts - Great for the Time Crunched
I've really enjoyed these workouts. They cover all the major muscle groups and they are challenging but kept to 30 minutes which is perfect for the time crunched. they give you good strength training with bursts of cardiovascular (ex mountain climbers) to get you a good workout. you can tell they are put together by a real personal trainer, somehow they just feel more authentic. they are really easy to follow and are suitable for all but perhaps a true beginner (i.e. some moves may not be prudent if you are just starting out). well worth the investment and the laminated cards make them easy to drag around the home gym.

Perfect fitness system for beginners and experts
Excellent product from an expert in fitness. This workout will really tax you and get you into shape if you follow the directions. The booklet is very well done and has illustrations of each exercise for those that are just getting into working out. This system is perfect for beginners and experts alike.
