Good thick mylar
They stand up by themselves, have a zip to seal them after opening, and are thick mylar that resists tears and punctures. I bought wise dry brand last time. The mylar was thin 4 mil. I got holes in a few bags. They didn’t stand up by themselves and they didn’t have a resealable top. The brand name mylar are still all china made mylar, just more expensive for a lesser product. Thickness matters when it comes to mylar!

Pin holes but did not affect performance
EDIT: I decided to keep the bags because the more I searched for an alternative that was in stock, the more I saw the same complaint about all the mylar bags. I found a prepper site that explained that sometimes the mylar will flake off the bag but the plastic lining inside is still intact. So I filled a couple of the bags with water beyond where the holes were and none of the water leaked out after letting it sit for awhile. I subsequently decided to use the bags and put the oxygen absorbers and my food stuff inside. The bags seemed to shrink down as they should with the oxygen absorbers in there. Now they are in plastic buckets with lids so I feel they will be safe for a few years if need be. I'm raising my review to 5 stars after receiving contact from the seller and an explanation. This is indeed common with Mylar and does not affect performance.I checked the first four bags based on reviews that said they had many holes down by where the base opens to widen. The first bag seemed okay but I didn't check the bottom well on that one, only the sides. The next three had multiple holes in not just the bottom seem but also some in other areas of the bag. On the second bag I started to try taping over the holes. Very hard to do because of the location on that bottom seam. The next two bags, even more holes. It seems like just handling the bags in that bottom area was causing more holes which is weird because the bags don't seem thin. They seem fairly sturdy but I've never bought mylar bags for food storage so hard to compare. I went back and checked the first bag again and sure enough, a hole in the base area AND a whole in the side but not at the seam. Just a random hole in the side area of the bag. Not worth the trouble to search all of them and try to find all the holes. Took me a half hour on just four bags!!

Gets the job done!
Very good quality. Especially like to use the seal at the top after placing the oxygen absorbers in 5 bags at a time before I seal them with a hot iron. This was the second time I’ve purchased these bags and I just bought more yesterday. I use 600 cc’s in one gallon. A bag of flour fits perfectly in one gallon - we make breads.
