SO AWESOME! WORKS SO GOOD!!!!
I've needed a chainsaw for so long, but not one of the high-powered gas ones that cut down giant trees. I needed a cleanup type chainsaw for small jobs around the yard. We also have widowmakers hanging from the trees, dead branches waiting to fall on somebody. So now I needed an extension pole and the prices on these units were absolutely ridiculous. Plus many look cheesy and poorly made. Amazon had their big summer sale and I guess from searching for chainsaws this item popped up and was priced about the same for just the chainsaw from other sellers. This company is very environmentally conscientious plus the unit was electric which was good for me. When I received the chainsaw and pole I was absolutely floored at the quality of the unit. Anyone would be gravely concerned with a chainsaw on the end of a pole as you cut down limbs on a tree. But this unit is very well balanced, has an extension on the end to give you another couple feet of reach, and most importantly the chainsaw is simple. It's self-lubricates with the oil and has a window you can see the oil level so you're never going to run out. What I like about it is the large chain adjuster, where the chain gets loosed after you've been cutting on it and you simply loosen the chain pull the bar tight and tighten up the chain. Absolutely amazing! At the same time I can disconnect the chainsaw and use it to trim branches and cut up firewood. The only downside I experienced was getting used to having the chainsaw on the end of the pole, over your head, and it requires careful balancing. I have researched other chainsaws like this and I truly believe I got a fantastic piece of equipment for yard work. I highly recommend this unit, I've used it several times and it looks like it's going to last for a while. I'm not rough riding and using it everyday and I'm only cutting branches and limbs that are no more than 5 or 6 in in diameter. I'm not trying to pose as some badass lumberjack.

Cut right through a 6-inch diameter tree trunk
I was tired of buying cheap little battery-powered mini chain saws that rarely last more than a year. But I live in the suburbs and don't need a big, gas-powered chain saw. I have a big tree in my backyard that was full of dead limbs that I couldn't reach, so I needed a pole saw. And I already have a 100-ft, 12-gauge extension cord, so I didn't need to spend the extra money on a battery-powered unit. So, considering all those factors, this Greenworks corded chain saw seemed like a good choice. It is, it works great. I'm glad I chose it. Like any pole saw, it is top heavy, so it's important to take that into consideration. But it doesn't take long to get accustomed to the feel, and once you do, you'll find this saw to be a great choice.

Great purchase with caveats
This is my first experience with a pole saw, so I do not have a point of reference in that respect. I really like: 1. Cutting power. It surprised me with how well it cut through a pretty large branch. 2. The 2-in-1 design definitely comes in handy for different parts of the job. The chainsaw has a very comfortable/confidence-inducing grip. I do not like: 1. The tensioning screw is difficult (at least for me) to tighten while keeping the chain and bar on the pin. Once I figured out how to do it I have not encountered any issues with the chain loosening. 2. The oil reservoir hemorrhages oil no matter how I position the chainsaw. This compounds #1 because oil will get everywhere during the process. 3. It can get very heavy and unwieldy when the pole saw is extended. The pole saw handle/trigger feel positioned too far down the pole when working on far-away branches. 4. I tired using this on long, thin branches on my palo verde and the chain just bounces them around. I am not sure if I should fault it for this or if it is the wrong tool for this application. Overall I am happy with this product and would probably buy it again.

Great tool
Nice compact tool. Cuts well. Pole assembly can be tricky. But it’s worth it. Had to hold the wife back. Was cutting everything in site.

Pass on this one!
The chain saw works fine, for what it is. When you put the saw onto the pole, it doesn't work. Amazon makes you deal with Greenworks, even thought the saw is brand new and they should return it... I have been on hold for 25 minutes and am still waiting for Greenworks to help. Amazon and Greenworks both suck!!

Leaky Chainsaw
The saw works okay. It is heavy for a pole saw but I liked the versatility of it being both a handheld saw and a pole saw. It has a tank for chain oil but leaks like crazy and I’m not sure the chain is actually being lubricated while running. I reported this to the manufacturer via email and received no response.

Good quality and long pole
Love it. Good reach, and still going strong.

Good value
This saw is great for trimming a few high branches. We have used it three times on Apple and pine which took little effort from the saw. We had the chain fall off once but getting the chain back on and going took roughly one minute so not a big deal. Highly recommend
