Really Crude Testing Raises a Couple of Edges - Need to Ask Avery
Avery label software. When you save a document in a new location the software always sends back to the default "Documents" directory instead of remembering the new location where you saved the last time. Adds a lot of keyboard or mouse clicking to get back to where you need to be.Create new label project you enter the Avery Product number and it pulls up the template. Given two items to test, 60523 and 60525, the 60523 did not work "We could not find any matches for your search". This review was based entirely on the 60525 template.Used HP7500A E910 Inkjet printer. Only black ink is pigment based therefore no colour printing was tried.I printed a set of labels to see how well the labelling software worked. Worked OK. Slapped the labels on the first thing in sight - a ZipLoc bag. I filled with water and dumped it into a sink full of water. Pulled it out a couple of hours later - no ink smudges but labels had peeled off of bag. Note to self - do not apply to flexible surfaces where water can get under the edges. Did not expect it to work and it did not.Thought I would be clever and buy a cheap cookie sheet and stick the labels to it. Able to heat and soak in one pan. This also did not work. The labels do not stick to non-stick cooking surfaces. I thought that they would and was a bit surprised that they become unstuck. Then I created a set of labels with text/graphic of solvent I was going to apply. I obtained a sheet of 1/32" aluminum and wiped down the surface with anhydrous isopropyl alcolhol (99.9% IPA) to prepare surface. Printed labels and applied to aluminum sheet. Did best to smooth out but some small air bubbles occurred. Smoothed down edges with pads of fingers then turned hands over and pressed label edges down as firmly as I could with fingernails.Testing included. Soaked aluminum sample in water for 1 hour. Placed sheet in oven and warmed to between 100°F and 130°F and let soak for an hour. After letting the sheet cool down I wiped down the labels with various solvents (DEET, bleach, butane, IPA, WD40, Tung oil, nail polish remover, and Goo-gone). With the substances applied I let the labels sit for an hour. This was followed by a water soak, an oven soak, abrasion by steel wool, a water soak, and finally an oven bake. After all of this I vigourously rubbed the labels in particular rubbing over the edges and corners. In three or four places the labels began to peel from the corners. This is a big concern given my previous comment that the labels have problems when water gets behind themPros. They hold pigmented inks very well. They are fine when used around typical household solvents.Cons. They may require specially prepared surface and exta care to make sure edges are sealed properly.Comment. Additional advice from manufacturer would be helpful regarding addressing cons. There are also some pictures of cupcakes from Sugar Bakery in Charleston SC

Not Waterproof from this Vendor
This is horrible. I have used this product for over 2 years. Never had an issue until now. The package came opened but that did not bother me as things get messed up in shipping all the time. However, when I used the product to make my labels they printed just fine. No smudges, however I always test a bottle under water. Welp. 100 bottles ruined. All smudge under water!!!! Labels says their inkjet/ waterproof. This is the exact same project number used in the past. Do not buy from this vendor!!!! Faulty and you will come out of extra money trying to fix the issue like I did.

Chemical label is not waterproof, Damage first time go wet
The paper looked good when I got it, but when I fill the bottle with regular all purpose cleaner and it spilled that was it, see what it looks like. The Chemical label is not waterproof, Damage first time go wet.

Not for plastic bottles...
Stick very well to metal containers, not so much to plastic. Labels on plastic bottles keep falling off after short time already. Disappointing!

Exceptional Label--Waterproof, Great Adhesion, CRISP printing
While I am not using these labels for the intended use--chemical labeling--I'm finding them exceptionally durable and waterproof and great for adhering to difficult surfaces.First, you do need a pigment ink-based inkjet printer to have the durability and waterproof capabilities. If you don't, the packaging clearly shows that you won't have a waterproof, chemical resistant, abrasion resistant or UV resistant label (see photo). I used an HP PageWide Pro office inkjet and did confirm that it uses pigment ink. The printing surface of the label is exceptionally smooth, making the printed image and text very crisp and clean.I adhered the labels to several items, including- A Moleskine notebook, which I have had problems sticking other labels to in the past- A textured plastic surface, again with adherence issuesThis label will be permanent on these surfaces. The label stuck well and did not peel off when picked at.I will be using this to create custom labels for some bottles--perfect because of the adhesion, the professional print quality, the waterproof print and the smooth finish. Definitely a cut above other labels.?

Good for everything!
These are really good labels. I have labeled about everything in the house including plastic containers and cardboard boxes so decided to try some stuff outside like shovels and lawn equipment. They are holding up to the weather just fine. You can't tear them or at least I couldn't so they don't come off easily once they are on. You just go to the avery site and put in code number of whichever labels you want to print and it does the rest. I use a laser printer myself. I am trying to get my husband to organize his shed next since that would help me actually find things out there. He wasn't too happy when I labeled his gas cans...that's because some have gas, some kerosene and some mixed for small equipment. Ok, so he knows what is in each can but I have trouble remembering sometimes myself. And yes, I know we all know it's a gas can but that doesn't always mean it's just gas in it. Gee whiz, can't a person add a few labels (about a 100 probably to date) without someone having a hissy fit. Oh, heck, I forgot to label the tiller! Gotta get back out there!

Ink started to run instantly after putting underwater
Product does not tear like it says on the package unfortunately it's not as waterproof as they say I wouldn't even call it water resistant on a good level.

Easy to use with online Avery service, waterproof, but definitely for tall bottles!
Even though these say Inkjet, they did work fine on my BNW brother printer, without any smudging or issues. As usual, I used the online Avery service. In this case it was even more useful than usual because they have a lot of compliant labelling for those who use it for business purposes. This size of label is best suited to a tall bottle, I tried to use it on a more squat bottle and ended up with crumpled up edges, so it really does work best on the tallness of bottle shown on the front. If your bottle is shorter than the black line on the labels on the front of the box, you'll probably want a different size. The only huge negative is that the online service doesn't have the right 'code' for the templates. The one listed on the front is NOT correct and doesn't show a template when you search it. The number you need is '60503', so make sure to search that one if you order these. These aren't really glossy, so I'm not not sure how they stand up to water, but somehow they do. It's nice to be able to have the matte looking labels, but still have them protected. One advice I would give is to make sure you are not accidentally printing two sheets as some of my sheets seemed like one thick sheet and I made this mistake! Good labels, would buy again.

Needs better adhesive.
Theyre decent stickers if you plan on replacing them every once in a while, even though they say the glue is waterproof, in reality they arent and fall off after a few weeks. I pre wiped the bottles with alcohol after the first batch came off like this and they lasted the same. I think that Avery needs to redo the adhesive on these. First the corners lift and roll, then they progressively start falling off all together. On the plus hand side though, once you super glue them to the spray bottles, they work well. I have a pigment based printer and they really do keep the sticker in prestine reading condition even with the chemicals getting on them! If you're thinking of getting either the laser stickers or these inkjet ones, get these... The laser ones wipe off with about 5 wipes of the hand.

What a fanatstic label to have for around the house and workshop.
It must be said. I didn't think I would appreciate these labels as much as I now do, when I first got them.If your house has a workshop or garage, you might have a number of bottles or old cans, whose labels have been torn off, faded or worn out. These labels eliminate that problem. The labels are big enough for any application, resist liquids and chemicals, resist tearing, are easily removed from their backings and adhere like nobody's business (just make sure the surface is as clean and dry as possible). Metal or plastic, these labels do a great job. Colors are vibrant, do not smudge and with the Avery on-line product template system, you can easily create the look and information that you want on the label.Outside of the workshop, we have found these labels are great for a clean look on bottles of environmentally safe cleaning that we formulate at home or if you buy "refill" products and put them into a dollar store type spray bottle or squeeze bottle, these labels will help you a ton, to know what is what and where. These labels have turned out to be one of the greater surprises, in that they are one of the best products that I didn't know I could really use!You might be surprised yourself.

NOt Great for At-Home Purposes
These labels aren't the greatest for at-home use unless they are being applied to a totally flat surface.I have a few spray bottles with Witch Hazel and Rubbing Alcohol in them for Bath Bomb making, and the bottles have grooves around them - after a week, the labels started peeling from the sides (but retained their ink), so only partially succeeded at this application. \I have been able to successfully stick them on paint cans where the colours were getting difficult to determine due to paint on the sides of the cans. . As well, I was able to print a photograph on one label to place on a flat glass vase, and it is still sticking on without any edge curling - so makes a decent craft application as long as the surface is totally flat. The Avery web site has several label designs specifically for chemical container labelling, thus if you are making products for sale, they won't miss compliant wordings.Overall, they are okay, but not as user friendly or multi purpose as I would of liked them to be.
