Awesome night time vision!
This camera was plug and play on my HVIEW NVR. I have a top end and medium priced 4K hview camera on this system. I was not expecting this camera's picture to keep up with the other cameras on my system but I was wrong. This camera holds its own hand it does a fantastic job at night. I uploaded three pictures of the same camera. One in daytime daylight, the next dusk and the last one at in the dark. There is absolutely no light on the side of my house and it's pitch Black. This camera's night vision is outstanding. The quality of picture and color during the day is outstanding as well. But this camera really shines at night. Overall I'm very happy with its performance. And I'm also very happy with this HVIEW brand camera. Everything about this brand is top notch including the viewing software. This is my third overall eight camera security system, so I speak from experience and have something to compare to. This brand is the best I've ever used especially considering that it's half the price of some of the expensive ones at Costco. If you buy just the NVR like I did you can mix and match different HVIEW cameras on the system cuz they are all plug and Play. I definitely recommend this camera as well as the entire system.

Great camera, easy install
Awesome picture quality. Was worried with the lower price. Hardest part of installation was getting the network cable ran to the camera. Make sure you read the directions. The cameras all come with a 192.168.1.120 default address (DHCP would be a better default). My network is all 192.168.0.* following the directions I downloaded the recommended program, modified the ip address to fit my network, then scanned for the camera in my NVR and it came right up. I've only been running them for a few days and it's a huge difference between them and my old bnc cameras. I'll update the review if they decide to fail for any reason but at this point I'm already planning to purchase more, just have to make the network modifications to accommodate more hardware.

Needs better tech support
Tech support takes forever to reply but based on the prize and image for what you pay it’s fair , no issues connecting cameras and easy to access on app . Good image and wide range of view

Works great with older Hikvision NVR and iVMS app
Added two to an older Hikvision NVR that can only do H.264 at max 3MP. The security camera company I purchased the system from no longer offers a compatible camera and told me if I needed replacement cameras my only options were to install one of their new cameras on my network using a POE or purchase one if their new NVR's at a discount which could use my old 3MP cameras or the new ones.I decided to try this camera. I already had a power supply that would work on it so I was able to just connect each one to my router and power it up with my power supply. I used their tool to assign it an IP address in the range of my NVR and change the max resolution and compression to work with my NVR. Then I just changed two of the ports on my NVR to manually configured with the new camera IP's and they came right up once connected. Everything worked correctly through the interface when testing and also through the old iVMS-4500 app on my phone. I left them disconnected in a cabinet for several months until I felt like installing them, and when I did everything worked perfect.I installed them easily on the vinyl ceiling on my front and back porch using the supplied hardware and drilling four small holes in the vinyl for the screws.

Not Good for Night Use or Small Areas, Great ONVIF Install but Extremly Poor IR Performance
The physical install was a bit fiddly and the IR performance was awful. The H.View was installed onto my ONVIF Network Video Recorder (NVR) with ease. I have installed and used about 30 different ONVIF cameras on my system and the H.View was the worse as far as night vision. Read on for my testing and impressions.Test Location: The camera was installed in the porch ceiling corner to monitor the house entry. The Good: -- EASY ONVIF INSTALLATION: The NVR immediately found the H.View on my network! The H.View default IP (192.168.1.120) was outside of my network range and I was able to reassign the IP from the NVR to a 192.168.0.120 address allowing the camera to operate within my network. A fantastic result! Every other ONVIF camera I have ever installed required the use of special software to find and reassign the IP. Also, the name assigned was H.View making it much easier to ID which camera it was. Almost every other camera I've installed has a generic "IPCAM" name. -- CAN BE CONFIGURE FOR LOWER RESOLUTION: While this is a 5 MP camera, one can configure for lower resolutions as 1080P. -- EASY AND MODERN USER INTERFACE (UI) FOR CONFIGURATION OVER IP: The H.View can be configured directly over its HTML by entering its IP address in a browser. An excellent and modern user interface (UI) is provided that provides detailed access to camera configuration for expert-level control. The UI is well organized and very intuitive to use. No need for Adobe Flash. I attached a picture of the well-designed User Interface page. I found that when using Firefox, all the configuration features were not available such as for the "Storage" configuration. To get all the configuration features available, Internet Explorer must be used. The Bad: -- VERY VERY POOR NIGHTTIME INFRARED: I was very disappointed when I saw the nighttime IR of my front porch. The image was very very dark as if there was no IR at all. For the picture attached, I was careful there was no other visible light on the scene so what you see is all infrared. A photo is provided of the same scene for both the daytime and IR. The night view is very dark as inadequate illumination is provided by the camera. -- AWKWARD PHYSICAL INSTALL: A bit awkward to install especially in a corner. You have to install the bezel onto the surface making sure you already have the cable which is attached to the camera ball through the access and letting the ball dangle while screwing in the bezel to the surface. The bezel then sandwiches in place with the camera bezel and held on with 2 tiny Allen screws. Very fiddly to tighten and awkward to get to especially when in a corner. -- MINIMAL POINTING ADJUSTMENT. Once installed the camera ball can be rotated 90 degrees up and down and but only about 10 degrees side to side. So make sure it about pointed in the right direction before tightening down the Allen screws. -- NO POWER ADAPTER PROVIDED: While the camera does come with a power dongle, it is a POE camera and does not include a power adapter. -- NO IP ACTIVITY LAMP: The Ethernet dongle does not have an activity light. This is a very helpful feature for troubleshooting knowing at least there is an Ethernet connection. -- SUPPORT: I emailed the support at hviewsmart.com and they got back to me within the next day. They claimed I installed it poorly. What? I have installed 4 different cameras in this location and this is the only one that had such poor IR performance. After a few cameras and NVR from this company they were consistently misleading and lied about performance.CONCLUSION: The poor nighttime IR is a big letdown, basically a failure. This camera was returned. The experience with mulitple support issues and their misleading ways means I will never buy a product from this company nor should you.
