Baxi necessity to set boiler expansion vessel pressure.
Although recently serviced, my Baxi Duo tec 28 boiler central heating pressure was rising to the 3 bar level when operating the heating. I then drained the whole system, refilled with Fernox cleaner (2 bottles of 500ml) and ran for 7 days, Then drained again, flushed out and refilled with Fernox inhibitor. No success.I then checked the expansion vessel and found very little pressure, but unable to set pressure due to the inaccessible location. Ordered this adaptor from Amazon, set pressure (with bicycle floor pump) to 1 Bar, and heating now perfect, running at ca. 1.5 Bar.I am a retired service engineer, although not on central heating systems, but have a good knowledge of their operation, having installed an open vented system 30 odd years ago, so would not advise any layman to carry out the aforesaid adjustment, without an indepth knowledge of combi boilers.
