Good quality and functional.
We had been considering buying a garden shredder for a long time - but we were put off by almost every shredder having some quite negative reviews - even the expensive ones. A local gardener suggested this one - and it has exceeded our expectations after a few uses. We were advised against spending a lot on an expensive one. The shredder makes short work of the prunings from the garden bushes and trees. A big heap of prunings produces about half a bag of fine shreddings which can then be spread as a mulch. Feeding the shredder is easy enough, and woody bits up to about 1.5cm diameter disappear quickly. The push tool helps the leafier bits go through. Sure it’s quite noisy, but it’s quick. The wire is plenty long enough and seems good quality. The shreddings all end up in the bag supplied - it is very functional for our needs. The machine seems to be well made and quite sturdy. Assembly was easy enough. It’s on wheels, so is easily moved. It is stable enough in use. I wish we’d bought this a few years ago.

Almost perfect, but!
I’ve had this machine since July now and I have produced a lot of mulch and chipped bark. It does prefer dry wood but soft green needs a bit more care. I did find the black pusher tool to be ok but I found a round stick about 30mm to be better for pushing the stuff down. One of my main gripes as been the debris that blows out from the bag, the problem with the bag is that it is just loose at the front, I did a little hack by taking the paper snap holder off a clipboard and pop riveted it onto the front, that holds the bag great and has solved that problem, so a lot less cleaning up to do now when I use the machine.

Does a good job
This shredder is doing a really good job and is excellent value. *It was straight forward to assemble. *It has a collection bag, rather than a solid box, so it is less sturdy. However, this means it is light to manoeuvre which is assisted by the large wheels and an easy to grab handle. *The collection bag is a decent size, which simply attaches to two hooks, and catches the shreddings with no problems. *It has a 10m cable which is a decent length for shedding away from the house if there are no outside sockets. *I was able to shred larger branches with no issues as well as the normal plant clipping, leaves etc. It does comes with plunger to help push the garden waste into the funnel but I only needed to use this on a couple of occasions. *It does make a noise but I don't feel this is overly noisy at all. It makes good mulch or alternatively helps with being able to get more into my garden waste bin.

Good bit of kit - very impressed
Bought this after reading reviews and looking on consumer guidance comparison sites. Was a little worried as some reviews were very negative. Well, I'm a 70 year old woman, assembled it no bother and it works a treat. I've been using it for a few days shredding masses of garden waste and I'm very impressed and surprised at how finely it shreds. It's handling all sorts of twigs and branches such as hydrangea, lilac, and ivy. So far nothing has got stuck but maybe my neighbours are fed up with the noise. The machine has a good long cable and is easy to manoeuvre in and out of the shed etc. Some pointers: Ear defenders are definitely needed Long branches may twist and jump around a bit as they hit the blades, so stand back and use the pusher to help them through. Trim any awkward shaped branches to avoid them getting stuck and stick (no pun intended) to the size guidance Empty the collection bag regularly It doesn't fine shred leaves but that's not a problem for me So all in all, I would recommend it. Use it sensibly and I see no reason why it shouldn't keep on happily shredding.

Very disappointing, very time consuming and loud, would not recommend.
I have a lot of garden waste (hedge cuttings, small branches etc) that needs clearing and didn't want to spend months using my green waste bin or paying to run to the waste center. I thought this would be a good investment to help clear the garden. Unfortunately I am really disappointed with this products performance. Here are the negatives: - It's really slow to process - putting waste into the machine is slow, the opening isn't very big and each time you have to use the plastic board provided to push it down, which you have to constantly push the material you are shredding, the machine won't pull it through for you - It's really easy to jam, just by putting in a medium volume of material in one go, or when I put through some twigs, much smaller than the quoted max diameter, this jammed the machine. It then took me more time, unscrewing the front cover, to then show the blades and remove the jam. - The fact the machine wont pull the material down makes it especially difficult when shredding branches as they're hard to push down with the plastic board - the machine is also very loud for a garden machine, so it won't be good in built up environments. I would not recommend this garden shredder to anyone. I now have a really expensive piece of machinery in my garage which I will never use again, because it is so time consuming and inefficient I cannot spend time using it. I will have to pay someone to come with an industrial shredder to clear all the waste I had. Do not buy this.

Does the job, but blades blunt quickly
Does the job. Blades blunt very quickly though. Not sure if they are poor quality steel, or that's normal. I've only used it for a few hours today after it was delivered yesterday and I had to turn the blades around once (they are double sided) and then remove them and sharpen both sides, then later turned them again. When the blades are sharp and clean it works well, but once they start dulling it gets harder to push things through and it starts clogging. I've only been shredding cuttings from bushes and conifers. Nothing unusual and much smaller than the 45mm diameter maximum. At least changing the blades is fairly easy. Just unscrew the knob holding the top cover closed, and they are easily accessible. Each of the two blades is held on with two screws.

Very good quality, simple to use, and good value for money.
Ease of assembly: 2 minute job. Efficiency: Surprisingly Good. Power: Very good for such a compact unit. Speed: Easily ate through large quantity of conifer in 20minutes. Ease of use: Only an idiot could get it wrong. Functionality: Very simple to use. Why did you choose this product over others?: Took a chance, and it paid off.

Works well with anything other than conifers
Easy to assemble, very loud in use, works well with smaller diameter branches however clogs fairly easily particularly with thicker conifer branches. Push stick is plastic and broke after the second use and had to purchase a replacement. Overall does a reasonable job of smaller workloads.
