The best induction burner we’ve used.

This is third induction burner we’ve bought in the last two years. The other two quit for various reasons. This one is noticeably better than the others. This burner has a much better temperature adjustment. The first we bought basically had high, medium, low, and boil. It worked really well but you didn’t have a lot of room to adjust the temp. The second one showed the actual temperature but made huge jumps between the temps, like you could go from 260 to 212 to 150. On this burner you can change the temperature in increments of 5 - 10 degrees. It makes it so much easier to control how fast your food cooks. The magnetizing ring is bigger on this one. The other burners are big enough to sit a large pan on but the ring is so small that you can’t cook evenly. I do wish the ring on this pan was bigger than it is, but I think it is the biggest you can get and works really well. The controls on this burner are easy to use. It has some features that we don’t use like program cook and setting the cook time. We just use the basic buttons and the temp adjustment. All three burners require the pan to stay on the burner while the unit is on. The big difference is that if you lift the pan off the burner this one will beep once then pause cooking while the others will beep at you continuously and occasionally just refuse to turn back on.Lastly, this one is quieter than the others we’ve used. They all run a fan while cooking but the fan on this one is quieter and it turns off faster after cooking than the others did.The only thing I don’t love is the pause/clear button. I keep expecting to tap it once to pause cooking and tap again to resume cooking, but the second tap turns the burner off. There’s a separate start button that resumes cooking and turns the burner on. This is not a big deal and may not even be an issue for most people. There are five cooks in my home and we unanimously agree that this is the best burner we’ve had so far.

First time with induction

I tried induction for the first time and it was pretty neat! The pot got hot but the surface did not and the device itself didn't produce heat directly either! Though the device does have components that do get warm so there is a fan that runs when you use it to keep the components cool. This means that you don't have to worry about the surface you put the device on. That said, you do have to be mindful of magnetic surfaces or electrical devices being beat the cooker when in use. It works with electromagnets and coils to transfer heat to something within the electric field. While heat can only be transferred to things near the heater, the field itself ranges a little farther than that so you won't want your phone right next to it, probably at least a foot though they make a note of saying to make sure to keep things a few inches from the device so I would imagine a foot would be enough, though I'm not willing to test that... Make sure not to have it on a magnetic surface as well when in use.All that aside, it works well and I like having precise temperature controls. Funny enough, it isn't that much more difficult to make a pot/pan that works with induction so many pots and pans now adays have induction as a cooking option so many people probably don't even realize they can already use induction. The wattage controls makes it feel like a great item to have for camping when you might be somewhere where power is limited or perhaps making a large gumbo pot. It says that it can hold up to 50lbs so imagine even deep frying a turkey could be an option, all up to you. I plan to make Mac and cheese later but as a simple test, I heated a can of Spaghetti O's (basically soup). I had a hard time initially because I never pressed start. To start you need to either press start using default temperature) or set your temperature and press start. I imagine the program button also works as a start button since it will start a present, but I have no need for that right now. Either way, I like it so far. I picked this one over the other since it had more temperature control options and bigger is better. I figure I can get more use out of one I can use or anything than one that has a limitation, but if you wanted to get into induction, I would recommend either the gold or the flex. Hopefully if I have any issues later, nuwave will be helpful as other mark concerns.

Handy

This was purchased during a kitchen remodel. Handy. Easy to use, just press tge corresponding buttons for what wattage or level of heat you desire. You must have pans that are magnetic to work. Quick heating. Sturdy. Now that the kitchen remodel is over it has been handy when I needed an extra burner during the holidays. I would also add this can be placed just about anywhere which makes it incredibly versatile. It is a bit large and bulky making it not fit in standard cupboards. It has also been handy when my new cooktop broke down. Definitely a value for me beyond what I had expected when I purchased it. It cleans up well. The noise is not an issue as I expect there to be some noise when I am using an appliance and it also provides some level of safety when you can hear it (maybe you will remember you are cooking something if you stepped away and forgot).

Super loud

This cooker works pretty well, but it's insanely loud. When you turn it on, the blower turns on immediately and is super loud. There's no way to operate it without the blower turning on, so it's not ideal for things like hotpot or other family style "gather around" dishes.

Temperature control and well made. I love this cooker!

I'm a believer in induction cooking. Cooking speed and portability is top notch.Having control of the temperature in 10-degree increments is the best feature in my opinion. Also, this cooker has a large surface area that can handles large pots and pans and the units is sturdy and forms a solid base. The controls are easy and intuitive, and it is so easy to use the timer. I don't even touch the range top in our kitchen anymore. The old-fashioned range top cannot select temperatures and set a timer.
