AA - ATR-5 Mini Portable Classic Analog Flanger Freeze Guitar Effects Pedal for Guitar Bass

First I don't really have experience with flangers just wa and overdrive pedals. That being said this thing is tiny, has a wide range of sound, and has fit my needs well. It doesn't come with a power supply and doesn't take a 9v either. It's heavy for its size metal housing the 1/4s fit nice and tight. For less than 20$ it's a great buy. I'm sure it's not as great as a 100$ flanger, but if your looking for a cheap pedal for your garage band stop reading this and buy it.Edit—>Well over two years later I use it weekly stomp button shows wear. But still functions great. 1/4 inputs are still good. I recently had two flangers and kept this one is that says anything.

I bought this on a whim for < $25. A few months ago I bought a TC Electronics Vortex flanger pedal for about $109. I never really got a sound I loved from the Vortex. But I loved the ATR-5 almost instantly.I think the Vortex is technically more versatile, but not a lot of usable options (in my opinion). This pedal does what it does very well. I think it's an imitation of an EHX Electric Mistress.I don't know that it makes a difference, but I also picked up a Boss DS-1 and I used them together. I haven't used the Vortex with the DS-1. It may be that the hard clipping distortion is what makes the difference with a flanger. But in any case it is still 4x less expensive. I recommend buying this pedal.

Great classic flange effect from an inexpensive mini. Don't turn the tone up too high as you just get an annoying feedback loop. So don't expect too much effect customization. Sound fit perfectly for the break in Listen to the Music -Doobie Brothers

It was the last one in stock and actually looked liked it was a used return item when it arrived. It sounds great though there is a volume drop when engaged .. not a major drop, but enough to notice, but it does sound great. Was debating about sending it back because of the volume drop when I realized my 30 days had just past.

Hey, this is a really nice little flanger. No volume drop when engaged, no noise when switched off. Does get the tones of the Electric Mistress really well, I was happy about that. Goes from many usable tones, to some wild over the top noise effects just like EHX pedals. The freeze switch is the bomb. Great clean and with distortion as well as fuzz.

This is a great little flanger pedal. I don't have a Mistress, so I can't compare. I love the freeze, it is like a half cocked wah. If all you get are chime sounds try turning down the color. I use this pedal for all my flanging needs. Lol, just buy it, it is great!

This is a really great little flanger, a decent emulation of the old '70s Electro-Harmonix Electric Mistress. It has about the same sweep depth and range, and the same ability to "freeze" the flanging at any point in the sweep. Small footprint, and hard to change settings in the dark or on the fly, but fantastic sound.

I'm a bass player and don't use a flange very often, so I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a big brand. I have to say, I was surprised at the sound of this pedal. Worth it.
