Oh if only they'd sent an instruction leaflet!
(free gift in exchange for review)The item arrived promptly, attractively boxed. It contains the main curler with plug and the largest head (32 mm) ready fitted. Then there are four further ceramic heads of diameters 25 mm/ 19-25 mm/ 19 mm and 9-18 mm. Plus a rather ominous-looking black glove which made me feel I was about to undertake a spot of welding rather than a little cosmetic improvement. The first thing I noticed was that there were no instructions and I couldn't work out how you changed the heads. I pulled, I pressed the button, all to no avail. Had to wait for hubby to come home - he quickly realised you have to press the front and back buttons simultaneously and the head then comes off to be replaced with the one of your choice, using the prongs underneath to fit in place (see pic)And so to the curling. I found it completely easy to turn on - there are 2 settings of which I chose the higher to give it every chance to impress (this can reach 210 degrees C) With no instructions I'm not sure if the light is meant to go off when it reaches the right temperature. It didnt seem to, so I guess you have to wait or touch it CAREFULLY to see if you think it's hot enough (not sure if I should be encouraging that!)Now I have totally unmanageable hair that gets straightened on a regular basis, but I thought it would be interesting to create a few girlish ringlets, so selected the smallest head in the hope of creating a corkscrew curl. With no instructions I left the curler in hair as long as I deemed advisable (but was it long enough??) and I did manage to get a few wavy tendrils. But as soon as I ran a brush through them they disappeared like the morning dew. But maybe you have to use this in conjunction with styling gel? Can one create curls on dry hair without product? I have no idea.I didnt use the dreaded glove (!) although one's fingers do get perilously close to hot ceramic .I would say that if you know what you're doing in terms of length of time you leave curler in/ technique/ styling products then you MAY well find this to be a perfectly OK item. But not if you're a total novice hoping to learn the secrets of seductive waves.NB I Was baffled by photo on box showing various different heads (not supplied) - spiral, bead, and funnel shape. Are these available to buy from manufacturer?
