Night of the Bold: Kings and Sorcerers, Book 6

Writer lost in the details
I liked the story in each of the books. There is a lot of action and at least the heroine isn't a complete idiot fumbling through the book. The one thing that truly was bothersome is the writer forgot how many people were riding on a single horse, or great weapons that had been lost I a fight would suddenly appear in the next scene without any indication of how they returned to the warrior. Additionally mistaken names were used in place of the character that was being talked about. There were many inconsistencies throughout these books. There is no time frame reference and no one ever eats. Basic needs are not met making the story unbelievable. The animals and some of the characters are unbelievable as they follow no evolutionary path to reach the an animal the are is. A horse that grazes yet has fangs? For what purpose? At least the horse thing should have evolved into a carnivore.Much and many of the characters were truly flawed and were unbelievable. The rest of major characters were vague at best. It was hard to see them interact because there was not enough description given to see them in your mind.I will not bother to read any more from this author

Good Series But Could Be Great!
The Kings and Sorcerers book series by Morgan Rice has the possibility of being a great series. This six-book fantasy series is full of many well-developed characters, fantastically crafted settings, a well thought out story flow, and some great and we'll written action scences. That being said, it misses its sought after possible greatness as a series, and the ability to lull the reader into that all important reading nirvana simply because it could use editing. It is such a shame too. I truly believe that this could be a best seller in my ratings. What are the issues that marr this from becoming stupendous? (I offer this with great respect.) There are the usual extra words, wrong word order, or wrong word tense (things I would consider minor fixes), along with dialogue that's a tad stiff, but then you have the wrong character name inserted into a scene (incredibly detracting), and scenes where characters use another character's name, when you know there's been no way that character should/would/could know that particular characters name as there's been no meeting or interaction (this happens with the Dragon's name too) between them or possible way they could know that character's name; but there was also a scene in book four where a character had a magic net thrown over him and was captured by the troll leader before the end of that book (Kyle), and then in book five when we revisit this character it's as if it had never happened: very confusing. The multi-character story flowed so smoothly, and has great potential, so much so that I truly wish for it to achieve the aclaim that it deserves. I would happily re-read and re-review this fantastic series once it has been run through another indepth editing. I look forward to more from this imaginative author.

Good story, but bad proofing and editing
The story itself deserves five stars, but I gave it a four because of all the problems with it.This six book series could have been condensed into four. The story jumped around so much that many times it was hard to remember who was who. Every chapter ended with the characters never catching a break, but always winning. It was exhausting to read. The descriptive fighting got to be way too much by book five. The one thing that bothered me the most, and many other reviewers have stipulated, was the lack of attention and care the author gave to the Kindle series. It was as if those of us reading her books on a Kindle weren’t as important than those who bought the physical book. The typos and inconsistencies were atrocious! It’s mind boggling that a professional writer would take such little pride in her work to allow this to be electronically published. I sure hope the printed version was proofread and edited. It was a good read, but I’m glad it’s over.

I am disappointed
I had to force myself to finish this series. I was disappointed with the quality of the writing and formulaic pattern employed by the author. There were numerous errors such as referring to a character by the wrong name and totally ignoring threads that were created (e.g. Kyle is captured by the trolls and he is suddenly free and the capture is never mentioned again). The author pays no attention to reality or the laws of nature Armies do not stop to camp. Horses can gallop all not. They march across continents in hours apparently. The enemy is always 10's of thousands. All the characters are constantly about to die when there is some miraculous intervention to save them. Battles with thousands of combatants end in an hour. It is tiring. I did think the characters were good. I just wish more attention was paid to the laws of nature.

Fine.
SPOILER: Yes, I finished the series. I'm just that way with series, good or bad read. Anyway, this series threw me off kilter, left and right, up and down. The near death experiences for every character at the end of every chapter drove me nuts. There were too many characters at play that I felt like Kyra and Kyle never got to really know each other. He was inlove with her, just like that. No meat in their story. Hello! The Troll King that just won't die despite nearly dying in every scene! There were bizarre characters too that just made an appearance out of nowhere like Soltis. The plot was there and started great, but it became overkill throughout the series. Three stars because I like Morgan Rice and her Of Crowns and Glory.

Read the full series
Once I get into a book I want to find out what the outcome is. I love fantasy and this series had decent ratings. I think the author took incidents from every popular fantasy book ever written and wove them into this series. The repetition of heights of a hundred feet, millions of ships, soldiers, golden whatnot. Swords like boomerangs always to hand even after being thrown like knives several times per battle. The inconsistency is mind boggling with characters that have .more lives than the average moggie. Yet underlying all the ridiculous scenarios was what could have been a really decent storyline and it was because of this I completed the series, but I won't be reading more.

Sack the proof readers!
Enjoyed these stories, not tried this author before and am downloading more on my kindle. However I was rather shocked at the VERY HIGH incidence of mistakes in the text of all the books in this series,I’ve just started the ring series and it’s the same there,so I felt obliged to leave a review to point this out.Whoever is responsible for editing these stories is doing a VERY BAD JOB! Shame!

Could do better.
The story is very good, but is spoilt by the bad proof reading. One moment we are reading that one of the characters has died, and in the next page another character is given the same name. When you are storming through the book it is disconcerting to pull up the reins to see if you misread the plot. I also think this series is too long, 5 books were enough, it seems like a television series where you know the ending before you get there.

My review
Although I enjoyed the series I was disappointed that it was not full sized books too short a read so I won't be reading any more of your books if this is par for the course

This is a very good series. Great read
This is a very good series. Great read. Unfortunately the spelling and missed words put you off & have to read 2 or 3 times to make sense of the story. Also, Versuvious got stabbed in the chest with a broken sword. No explanation of how he survived. Get better Proof readers.

Great fantasy saga, with battles, dragons and heroes
The finale in the kings and sorcerers saga was brilliant. Excellently described battles of very different nature were brought to life by Morgan rice were rich and interesting and completely absorbing. I have that satisfied feeling of a great book series ended well, with a little sadness it's over! Great series, great end, would recommend it whole heartedly!

Too long
Went on two books to many ....kept repeating the same stuff over and over . Everybody seemed to just want to die ...and every fight they knew this time they would die ..and never did ....the girl with the staff a d all the power ..kept forgetting she had it .....it just got soooo boring in the end glad it's over ..

Needs proof reading
Whilst I very much enjoyed the story line there are mistakes in character and place names getting muddled and too much repetitive language the vocabulary could do with being expanded

A good ending
Having read the whole series I can say enjoyed them all, some good storylines and interesting characters. Found wanting more, as well as getting frustrated with the main character. It all melded into a good story.

I'm and old codger and enjoy an easy read
I'm and old codger and enjoy an easy read. These books are just the ticket for that. However, I find some of the typographical errors annoying. Obviously has not been proof read sufficiently.

Enjoyed the ending. Still felt that it had more gore than it needed but otherwise, excellent. Looking forward to reading more.
