A good story
I started reading this book immediately after finishing Rise of the Dragons. While the absence of an editor is apparent based on the typos I still have to say I really liked this book. I have read others with far more typos. I don't like it, but have come to accept it as part of reading lower priced or free books.I didn't have an issue with the numerous impossible situations since this is a fantasy series. However, there were many chapters that could have been better had they ended one or two sentences earlier. It was annoying to have so many people see their own death coming at the end of several chapters. For me adding that they "knew" they were going to die actually detracted from the building suspense. Unlike some who have complained about the cliffhanger endings of most chapters, I enjoy these things. These are the things "page turners" are made of.Ms. Rice, if you are reading this review, please take note that continuity is an issue for most readers. As I said in the paragraph above, I can handle impossible situations when reading fantasy, but it bothers me when there are inconsistencies. I am an intelligent adult. Please do not insult that intelligence. To have Kyra lose her staff in the raging waters while fighting and killing a huge squid was significant. My thoughts were "oh no, not her staff!" Then she miraculously had it in the following chapters! No. As a reader, every time she pulls that staff off of her back I remember that she lost it killing that squid and it shouldn't be there. By the way, what happened to her arm guards? You should fix these.I've already committed to this series so I will read all of the books. I like the story very much. With an editor it could possibly be worthy of 5 star reviews. I've started The Weight of Honor. Stay tuned...

The Great Agenst the Many!
A great story of the few who were against the team of evil. It kept changing and it kept me reading the next page!!!

Good Series, Could Be Great!
The Kings and Sorcerers book series by Morgan Rice has the possibility of being a great series. This six-book fantasy series is full of many well-developed characters, fantastically crafted settings, a well thought out story flow, and some great and we'll written action scences. That being said, it misses its sought after possible greatness as a series, and the ability to lull the reader into that all important reading nirvana simply because it could use editing. It is such a shame too. I truly believe that this could be a best seller in my ratings. What are the issues that marr this from becoming stupendous? (I offer this with great respect.) There are the usual extra words, wrong word order, or wrong word tense (things I would consider minor fixes), along with dialogue that's a tad stiff, but then you have the wrong character name inserted into a scene (incredibly detracting), and scenes where characters use another character's name, when you know there's been no way that character should/would/could know that particular characters name as there's been no meeting or interaction (this happens with the Dragon's name too) between them or possible way they could know that character's name; but there was also a scene in book four where a character had a magic net thrown over him and was captured by the troll leader before the end of that book (Kyle), and then in book five when we revisit this character it's as if it had never happened: very confusing. The multi-character story flowed so smoothly, and has great potential, so much so that I truly wish for it to achieve the aclaim that it deserves. I would happily re-read and re-review this fantastic series once it has been run through another indepth editing. I look forward to more from this imaginative author.

Morgan Rice - A gifted and talented writer.
This book was my first read by Morgan Rice and I am anything but disappointed! I love dragons, fairys, fantasy that isn't dark and Rise of the Valiant totally gave me everything! A really good read, story line and characters. Can't wait to read the next book in this story! Thank you Morgan Rice for sharing your writing talent with so many. You are a very gifted writer as I am an avid reader!

Good read - transitional in nature
I enjoyed Rise of the Valiant. As the title implies, this is the beginning/introduction of a much larger tapestry. Without giving away to much, this means you'll be following multiple characters that will clearly mesh or conflict with one another in future books. I enjoy Morgans writing style and how she clearly identifies the fundamental beliefs and flaws of each of her characters. I'd give the book five stars but sometimes found jumping back and forth between character plots disjointed. That said, I would highly recommend this book to anyone that likes fantasy with strong characters in a landscape that is well defined and plausible (assuming you believe in Dragons and Trolls!!!). Enjoy!

Good Book (s) Want more.
This is the second book in a series, and I have enjoyed the plot and story line. There are several different characters that are telling their stories or that are being followed in these books. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. The only problem with the books that I can find is sometimes the details get confused or some person is called by another's name, but I know who it is so I have overlooked it. What I love is the story and I want to know what is going to happen next. Lots of action and drama taking place. Sometimes it is obvious that even though a leading character is in trouble no matter how bad they will survive from some outside source coming in at just the right moment, but who cares, I love the books, problems with grammar or details, I don't care. Morgan has a rich imagination and I applaud him for keeping such a story going and want to read more.

Exciting!
I love the way her story comes alive. Kyra is a strong young woman who inspires those around her. The story is so compelling that I bought the 2nd book right after finishing the first and now I'm buying the 3rd. So good!

Fantastic
Book 2 was even better than book 1, I read it in one sitting. The characters feel alive, such a thrilling read. The fight for Escalons freedom has begun! Take reminds me of the leader from the film 300! Again well done Morgan!

Einfach super

Great story...
I'm at chapter three of the second book and yet I find it a great story. After reading the series "The Sorcerers Ring" of Morgan Rice I think that all the stories she has written are just the best ever with everything inside. I now really really love reading thanks to her and I have to admit that before reading her books I did'nt understand how beautiful it is. It's just amazing how a story can transport you into other worlds compleatly different from the one we live in ( with magic and creatures that go over our immagination ). Morgan Rice has written this other series that I cannot wait to read all and so to say if it is or not a book to buy I would need to read it. All I can tell you now is that Morgans stories are super!#MORGANRICE4ever

Thus author just doesn't stop.
Neatly crafted, enough fact interwoven with fantasy to make a reader believe this *could be*a real accounting of an historical event. All the while drawing any reader deeply into tale. Unknowingly..a reader begins to find themselves rooting and feeling for the protagonists within, almost as a long lost friend has suddenly been revealed. A friend any reader once cared deeply for, then somehow lost touch. Yet through these pages, suddenly learns what really happened. The author is already skilled at welding her gift and her craft. If you can find her books, as others before recommend, grab them for your personal library. Guaranteed that like so many before,( Anne McCaffrey comes first to mind, likely because of the dragon connection) these books will gather no dust, instead will weather and wear as generations love them. Each becoming enthralled in the pages, new enthusiasts to carry the hopes of each generation.
