Excellent book
Excellent book, covering the infamous historic Jallianwala Bagh massacre in the form of a heart touching poem penned by Nanak Singh novelist. Nanak Singh, 21 at that time, was also present at Jallianwala Bagh to witness the massacre firsthand. This event prompted him to write the poem ‘Khooni Baisakhi’ which sold millions of copies. The English translation is a masterpiece in itself.

Vivid, moving account of that fateful day in 1919!
A moving account of the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre and the events leading up to it, in verse, by someone who was present in the Bagh on that fateful day.The original Punjabi verse is transliterated in Devnagari, and also vividly translated in English (keeping the metre intact!) by Navdeep Suri.A Foreword and short articles explaining the history of the event add to the reader's understanding.Particularly poignant is the piece by Justin Rowlatt, great grandson of Sir Sidney Rowlatt, the author of the Rowlatt Act which was at the root of the protests that led to the massacre.Strongly recommended.
