I was relaxing on my back patio on a sunny day when I noticed the wicker chair nearby was beginning to tilt a bit to one side. Probably because it had been outdoors for some time. I picked up the potted plant and perched it atop the chair as a means of forcing the chair back into shape. Since I was going to paint a still life that day anyway, I thought why not paint the the chair and plant assemblage. After all, they make a perfect still life.
