Marrying Mr. Wrong: A Hot Romantic Comedy (Dirty Martini Running Club Book 3)

It was a good story
I'm reminded now why I went on a reading hiatus especially from romance. I was so sick of reading the word blonde in the description of the woman I was ready to scream and couldn't take it anymore. And while this is not Kingsley's fault this is the third book in two days since I've resumed reading with a blonde heroine. And I'm still sick of it. I'm not saying blonde isn't absolutely gorgeous hair, but I am saying outside of Los Angeles there are not a fraction of the blonde women out there that the romance genre seems to believe there are. When I go to the grocery story I may see one or two and about 25 women with different shades of brunette. So will someone please explain to my why this genre acts like we live in a society where you can't go two steps without seeing a blonde.Blondes aside I liked these characters and I found the plot to be incredibly engaging and funny. It's a quick easy read and an entertaining story.

Great Series
Sophie Abbott is the sweetest clutz you’ll ever find. She has a great job and the best circle of friends a girl could have. Camden Cox helps her out of a tricky situation, not realizing at the time that he knew her when they were young. Something about her grabbed his interest and it was not usual for him. Then he meets her again and wants to pursue it, because he gets what he wants. He didn’t realize he would be getting not only what he wanted, but something he truly needed. Their relationship started as a drunken mistake, but attraction and feelings have a way of making more of an erroneous situation. The Dirty Martini Running Club women are all amazing in their own way and I’ve enjoyed seeing them find men worthy of them. Claire Kingsley has a way of writing characters that tug at your heartstrings and have you cheering them on to their HEA.

Note to self, remember to wear panties
Is Sophie clumsy or does she have a bit of bad luck? For one night in Vegas all the stars aligned and her luck turned. It was a bit of a clumsy road to get to her happily ever after, but it’s just a cautionary tale to remember to wear panties.

Sweet like sugar
It was a surprise meeting off a balcony, but he did not recognize me. Take two, and when my boss introduces me to him, things start clicking together. What I did not expect was what happened in Vegas was going to come home with us.

Very Cute, Quick Read
Marrying Mr. WrongCox and SophieThis was a very cute, somewhat predictable romance.Sophie was an adorable klutz. She was probably the muse for Murphy’s Law. If something can go wrong, it does with her. She can be scatter brained, and forgetful but loves with all of her heart. If you are in her inner circle, you have a fierce and loyal friend. She can also hold onto a grudge. Like hating the neighborhood boy who pulled her hair and teased her when she was eleven years old. Camden. Who is all grown up and now her accidental husband.Camden, or Cox as he prefers, has worked his way out of poverty, to own a multi million dollar development firm. When it comes to business he can be ruthless and usually gets what he wants. His quick charm and easy smirk assures he can easily find a willing woman to warm his bed. But will never want a lifelong partner. Marriage is not something he can ever see for himself. But one night in Vegas with the lovely Sophie, too much fun and alcohol, finds him waking up the next morning married to her.Back in reality, neither wants to be married, but they come to an agreement. He needs to avoid any bad press (such as a nasty divorce) while he works to finalize a business deal. Sophie agrees to stay until the deal is done, and in exchange, Cox will buy a house for her dad.You know what’s going to happen. The more time they spend together the closer they get. Cox apologizes for his bullying ways, confesses why he was always teasing her, Sophie forgives him. They learn to live together and start to fall for each other.Sophie can see their future together. Cox, while having feelings for her, is bound and determined not to stay married. He’s still counting down to their end date. When you add in meddling best friends, one over enthusiastic assistant, parents who are thrilled their children are finally married, and betrayal by a trusted confidant, you get one very entertaining, funny story.Overall I really liked this story. I loved the writing style and the characters. It was a quick, easy read.I struggled a bit with Sophie’s clumsiness. While it was cute, and added to her charm, it went a bit too far. Too much. It became unrealistic. And Cox’s constant reminder that he’ll never love, never marry, again was a bit much.I loved seeing the past couples and catching up with them. The author says two more books are coming in this series. I’m looking forward to reading them.Dual points of view.No cheating.HEA.A great epilogue, with another glimpse of the Miles family vineyard.

Mr. Wrong becomes Mr. Oh-so-right!
Although this book is part of a The Dirty Martini Running Club series it can be read as a standalone title. However, in my honest opinion, start from the beginning of the series because all the books are great and you’ll get to meet the entirety of the running club and get to know them properly. They’re a sassy bunch of beautiful, smart and magnificent women who prove time after time that the loyalty of true friendship can bring a silver lining to even the darkest of moments.Marrying Mr. Wrong is the bouncy, bubbly and calamitous story of the bouncy, bubbly and calamitous, Sophie Abbott. There’s nothing you can’t love about this woman. She’s cute, curvy and adorably clumsy, and she brings a cheeky cheeriness to everyone around. (And her dad is hilarious!)Similarly to Everly in the first two books, she’s a positive ray of sunshine that brightens up everyone’s lives. Working for Everly’s husband, Shepherd Calloway, Sophie is professional, smart and highly organised… but she’s also a walking disaster. The poise and eye for detail she manages to maintain whilst at work is sadly missing from her every day life where tripping over her own feet is a regular occurrence and if anything remotely disastrous or potentially embarrassing is going to, you can guarantee it’s going to happen to Sophie. But she takes it all in her stride which makes her even more endearing. So it stands to reason that if anyone was going to mistakingly marry someone she hardly knew whilst on a drunken night in Vegas… it was going to be her. What no one could have foreseen is that the man who would become her surprise husband would be the grown up and gorgeous as heck version of the boy who teased her relentlessly as a child.Camden Cox has grown up to be a big-shot property developer. Far from the poor, abused and troubled young boy who’d hurt Sophie’s feelings - he’d worked hard and made his mark in the world. Cox has everything. Looks, wealth, security… everything, except love. Resigning himself to be the eternal bachelor, he’d never considered ‘forever love’. Marriage wasn’t for him. With his eagle-eyed lawyer, Althea McLellan (aka Maleficent) keeping his business interests in check and his personal assistant, Oliver, keeping his private life running smoothly, he was flourishing. A new project was going to be his crowning glory. But an embarrassing set back with his business partner jeopardises the project and he was looking for suitable investors. He sets his sights on Calloway. After bumping into his pretty (and precariously panti-less) assistant at a gala, he was even more determined to get his business.. and see more of the beautiful woman he’d encountered. With Calloway being on a trip to Vegas, Cox has no choice but to fly out there to try to broker a deal. It goes well, but he can’t take his eyes of Sophie. He then remembers where he knows her from. The sweet girl he tormented as child had turned into the most stunning woman.Vegas then works it’s magic and soon what was just going to be a night of fun and frolics ends up with them both naked in a hotel honeymoon suite, and…. Married!!What ensues is a heartwarming story of how two people suddenly and very legally bound to each other develop their relationship from strangers to lovers. It takes a while because neither of them are quite sure how they feel about it all. On the one hand, they get along - very well in fact - but this was something neither of them expected.Whilst Sophie had always wanted to get married and have the whole kids and white picket fence thing, it couldn’t have been further from Cox’s mind. But now it’s happened and they are husband and wife, what will they decide to do?Cox’s business can’t take another PR scandal so they agree to stay married, at least until the project is underway. Inevitably, that means spending time together. And spending time together means the opportunity to develop feelings… real feelings. There’s so much attraction between these two that it’s palpable… but could something so surreal become real?Of course it can… and of course it does. After a hesitant start, soon their passion and desire for each other gives way to a beautiful coupling. But what happens to their agreement? Will they divorce? Or, could their unexpected marriage be the best mistake they’d ever made? There’s some awesome scenes in this story. There’s the stomach dropping moment his evil lawyer tries to separate the love birds and everything seems to be lost, but there is a guaranteed happily ever after for them - and the epilogues - wow, so poignantly beautiful.Yet another Kingsley book that has had me absolutely gripped. She writes the most amazing page turners and I’m almost sad to say that I’ve nearly read her entire catalogue of wonderful books. Can’t wait for her to release more… including Noras story. That’s going to be an interesting one. Well done, Claire. You never fail to impress.

Amazing
I absolutely loved Sophie and Cox! If I could give this more than 5 stars I would.Poor Sophie! She was such an adorable hot mess with the biggest heart. If something was going to happen it was going to be to her, if there was a misunderstanding she was going to be involved, if anyone was going to wake up married in vegas it was going to be Sophie! The minute we meet Cox he totally won me over! I loved the fact that these two have a history, although brief. After their chance encounter.......that Sophie would rather forget, Cox can't get Sophie off his mind. This is the perfect rom com! I had a huge smile of my face while I was reading Sophie and Cox's story! This series just keeps getting better and better and I loved catchy up with the rest of the Dirty Martini Running Club ladies, Shep and Colton along with Sophie's Dad, Cox's Mum and Oliver made me laugh so much!I can not wait for Nora's story!

Great Addition to the Series
I have really enjoyed all of the Dirty Martini Running Club series so far and this was no exception. I particularly liked the fact that Sophie and Camden had known each other as children. We can all remember boys pulling our pigtails! This was a good mix of romance and humour.
