During the holiday sales i bought this for a good friend of mine. He opened the box and immediately noticed the control knob for the flame was off-centered and a little loose.We tried filling it with butane and it was leaking right away. Using a paperclip we were able to mess with the valve to make it stop leaking constantly. It worked for him that night, the following day it wouldn't let any butane out and thus wouldn't light. Later in the week i picked it up from him to send back and when he tried showing me the problem it would work randomly and then give out.Compared to other torches we've used, this thing is bulky, and the plastic guard makes it feel cheap. The only upside to the size is the amount of butane it can hold, but if it leaks out or wont light, whats the point? The angled nozzle, which i thought would be nice, actually just makes things more difficult if your used to a straight nozzle. The control knob doesn't do too much either, its either full blast or barely on, nothing in-between.Now we might have just gotten a defective product but i honestly can't recommend this to anyone. If your shopping for a torch, spend the extra money and get a name brand with a lifetime warranty. You'll save yourself a headache.

I got this for my husband and he's obsessed with it. I bought it thinking we'd only use it infrequently for making fancy desserts. But we use it all the time on our sandwiches.

This torch has an inadequate piezoelectric igniter which results in remarkably poor ignition...maybe 5% of the time it fires on the first attempt. The torch usually takes 10-15 attempts to achieve ignition. Often a secondary ignition source is necessary like a match or Bic lighter. Other brands comparable in price are of better quality.

I use this to finish my candles...Much better than the torch lighters

First of all, I had high hopes for this blow torch since I make candles frequently and it was the answer to my candle making prayers. At first, it worked fine, doing its' job and lighting things on fire with ease.HOWEVER, tonight my house and my body almost caught fire. I was using the blow torch per usual and while using, I turned the knob to decrease the flame down a notch. Then suddenly, the knob exploded and the flame exploded in my face and burnt my hair. I thought for a moment that it blew my hair off and that the side of my kitchen caught fire.Thankfully my boyfriend grabbed the handle with the whole torch on fire mind you, and threw it outside (on our concrete porch where the flame died down).DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR IT WILL EXPLODE AND CATCH YOUR HAIR ON FIRE.The pictures don't look horrible but the flame was huge and literally blew up in my face. You've been warned.
