This was a fairly easy fix and got my heater working perfectly again in my H3 Hummer. There are two of these units under the dash. By having someone else cycle through the different settings of my heater/AC while I had my head under the dash, I could see that one of them was not moving. So I used the three screws to replace it. It was quite a tight fit of my head and body under the dash but it could be done. I would guess if you took the vehicle in they would remove the dash which is always a problem because something invariable starts rattling after they put it back. Also it would be vastly more expensive than a D.I.Y. job like this. I was worried about lining up the device with the receptacle but as it turns out this is a non-issue so do not worry about it. Just fit it together and then turn the device until the screw holes line up.

I have a Pontiac Solstice and needed two of these because both of my blend actuators died... these Replacements work as advertised. Got heat now. Yay!😀

Very easy install, just a bit awkward to access (by the gas pedal). Took about 20 minutes and saved me $$$ by doing it myself.
