The Ultimate Guide to U.S. Army Survival Skills, Tactics, and Techniques

Great book it has over 900 pages and covers everything from Antartic to desert survival and from combat to.... well just about everything and survival in general. Gives a good collection of common plants you can eat in different parts of the world as well as animals and also some strange uses that you would'nt think of for tree's and other vegitation. It also covers nuclear fallout and biological warfare briefly and gives guidelines on what to do and how best to avoid radiation poisoning. It covers first aid extensively and combat also gets a sizeable section of the book including the disarming of knifes and rifles and first aid seems to get the largest single section, the only problem for me is that the illustrations for first aid and combat could be a good bit better as well as the building of survival shelters and combat trenches (not that you're ever likely to need that one)can be a bit boring to read at times as there is just soooo much writing. Otherwise a five star book, would be handy for people who like camping or people who just like to be prepared for everything and anything. No harm to have it around the house as a kind of survival/camping/medical/outdoor persons encyclopedia, would deffinitely recommend it to anyone good thing to have in any house, a family house even more so in light of the current world situation with weather (New York and super storm sandy and Haiti earthquake)and economic's (worldwide recession, Greek riots and British riots)these kind of things could happen anywhere any time and an "it can't happen to me" attitude wont help when those situations do arise on your doorstep and believe me they more than likely will in at least one stage of every persons life. This is basically a collection of several U.S. Army guides but that doesn't mean it doesn't merit a good rating.

Ouvrage très complet et très détaillé. On en a pour son argent. Les conseils viennent d'un pro et on peut les appliquer de suite.

This book is excellent, the information contained is great for any amateur military enthusiast. Of course if you look at it with your 'special forces lens' it may not live up to your expectations. The only things I didn't quite like is that the book is really bulky, which is unavoidable so I'm not really complaining. Also, the figures could be better drawn, but that's just being picky as they're perfectly good to look at. You won't be disappointed with this book.Btw, you can read the full book online for free (legally), just google FM_21-76. Though is better to read a real book IMHO.
