I read all reviews before purchasing. Bought two units in a package. When they arrived, one had the lid twisted a bit sideways due to one corner of the lid being pushed a little bit into the case, I was able to get it unstuck and there was no damage, the lid was still straight on the hinge. One unit's locking mechanism worked ok, a bit stiff, the other was hard to get to work - takes some wiggling, as earlier reviewers have noted. I haven't tried to adjust it as was done by earlier reviewers. Other than this, I like the safes. Fairly sturdy steel, the lock holds the lid on tightly. The foam liners on the top and bottom yield enough to allow a weapon to fit inside, but are not so soft as to be completely crushed. I was worried about no foam lining on the sides, which could rub a spot raw on what is inside if it shifted to one side or the other, but I found that my S&W 38 is held firmly in place by the foam when the lid is closed, so I felt this was not a problem. I got this to be legal, not to guard against a determined thief. If that is what you need it for, the cable provided is relatively thin gauge, can be cut easily with bolt cutters. Best security is to hide it and its small size works well for that and the cable should be enough for the smash and grab artist. In surmmary, good value for the price for what it is designed for.

It's impossible to determine the quality of a product in the first week etc., but this review might be able to help others. The gun cases seem well-made for the money, but we had a tough time with the keys and customer service. With a .38 revolver loaded in the case and the key turned into the lock position, the key would not dislodge on either unit. The case comes with no correspondence so we found the company (Gero) online and called their CS number. He said he couldn't help but would transfer me to someone who could. I got a foreign-speaking guy on an answering machine and I usually just throw in the towel if I have to speak with someone I cannot understand especially if it's not a live person. We almost sent them back in frustration if not for a youtube video where the lady reviewing mentions a "key problem" she was able to work through. After several more attempts and learning the "trick" of putting more downward pressure as you're trying to take the key out, they both started working as they should. I felt like leaving 3-stars just based on the circumstances, but I'm basing the 4-stars on build quality vs price paid. I'll update in a few months and hopefully the Made In China product is still operating properly.

Other than coming slightly crushed and having to pry it open to get to the keys and cable arrived undented and whole.But down to the review, I bought this hoping it would fit my Springfeild Armory XD45 service modle, I have had some issues with others I have looked and purchased that tho say it will fit either don't fit or dont hold the extra mag like i wanted. and being able to put it in my bag to cary it I didn't want it to be to thick, but still able to hold it.This fits the gun itself and with a bit proper placement will hold 2 spare mags as well. Other than being crushed in transit and needing some help to be opened, in this case I am thinking only because it was shipped unlocked and not really in more than a white shipping envelop and it's own box. It's better than I had expected, it dose meet tsa requirements and is a sturdy made box.

I love these. With increased shady activity in our little town, I just didn't feel like the safe in the closet was close enough at bed time. I picked these up and now keep my 1911 tactical safe and secure in the nightstand. Although we've taught all of our children about gun safety, and it's only our 12 yr old living ay home now, gun security is of the utmost importance. These are solid pieces. I feel much better about having quicker acces to the means to protect my family, and have total confidence in the construction by Gero, that I'm not concerned about any "accidents". Thanks Gero for an easy transacton and a great product.

These are nice compact light security gun or valuable safes. They are reasonably sound and will resist snatch and grab attempts. They will only take a few minutes for a determined prepared thief to defeat. An aggressive attack with a pair of pry bars will defeat the lock mechanism. And the security cable would be better utilized were it anchored at the other end of the unit, it tends to try and jump out while you are trying to close the safe. I use them in our vehicles to secure firearms. Part of the security is rthat they are quite compact and are easily hidden under the front seat or under a jacket or other common article. I will probably buy a few more of them.

Perfect for size for traveling. I do a lot of 1-2 day trips and have a smaller roller bag, so didn't want a large pelican case that won't fit. I was able to get the hand gun (M&P shield), a spare magazine and a 20rd box of ammo. Cable loooped around inside the luggage, stayed secure. Of course, bolt cutters won't be a match, but how many baggage handlers have a bolt cutter on the ramp?It didn't take up too much space in the bag, still packed as normal for a 3 day trip. No problem checking bag with AA.Have to say, slim profile gets the job done.

Great value for the money; exactly as described. This product provides the expected level of security at this price point, sufficient for travel as will meet TSA guidelines and use in secure environments where someone will not force entry or try to overcome cable with force. If you need to stop a determined individual, you are looking at the wrong price point. Also can confirm a Shield and extra mag fit perfectly. Lastly, excellent customer service, very satisfied.

Nice solid construction but poor quality control. I purchased a 2 pack so I'd have one in each of our cars. One of the 2 had a problem with its assembly. When you locked it you could not remove the key. The bar on the bottom of the lock was not fully engaging the receptical. This was preventing the removal of the key. I disassembled the locking mechanism and repositioned the components to their correct alignment. Now the lock works properly and the key is removable.
