Chase Fitness 5KG Tri Grip Cast Iron 2" Olympic Weight Plate Discs 1.25-25kg (5kg x 4)

Reading reviews of these plates on here involving people complaining about the aesthetics of these plates makes me shake my head at how refined and delicate the sensibilities of modern gym culture have become. These plates are, most importantly, accurately weighed. The 20kg plates weight 20kg. The 5kg plates weigh 5kg. The holes in the middle are machined to perfect size. That is ALL THAT MATTERS. Would I recommend them for Olympic weight lifting movements that end with them being dropped from a height? Of course not- bumper plates would be much preferable for those movements. But for deadlift, bench press, squat and any barbell or Olympic dumbbell exercise that relies on controlled time under tension and negative phase contraction, they are perfectly fit for purpose. In fact, because they are smaller in circumference that bumper plates, they will require an extra 1-2 inches of depth in deadlift from the floor, which is no bad thing providing you have the posterior chain integrity to do it (and you really should). Are the 20's and the 5's a different shade of metallic grey? Yes. Do I care? No. Should you care? Honestly, I don't think so. These are great value for a home gym set up, and the built in multi grip design increases their utility, and also makes them fantastic for use with a landmine for Bus Driver's , single arm lever press, prone grip single arm lever rows etc. Spend more for something prettier if you like- it's your money, but I'd sooner buy more of these for the cash, and get stronger, than sit around admiring less weight for it's colour coordination.

These were the cheapest Olympic weights I could find online and because of my current financial hardship, I decided to go with these. Given they are the cheapest, I didn't know what to expect. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The finishing has a few ever-so-slightly sharp edges where the tri-grips are, but the rest is perfectly fine. The thick paint job looks like they will last a lifetime and they should be protected from any rusting. No worries on that front. You simply won't find better weights for the price. Highly recommended!

Just what i was looking for

These were the cheapest Olympic plates I could find online and they came with free next-day delivery. Solid build quality and a simple and pleasing design. I have not weighed them but they seem equal mass with no defects and look as if they will last a long time. A great deal and service, many thanks.

So pleased with these weights. Ordered two sets and after reading some of the reviews wasn't sure what to expect. I can't fault these. Very good value for money and will be ordering again

Worst choice I ever made! Two major issues!! 1. The plates already have chips and flake off their outer coating, creating sharp edges and are just purely made. 2. The worst yet was that the company shipped the plates to Ireland with a 3x the value of the items on the shipping document and therefore cost me €140+ in customs charges, whereas if they just put the actual price on the shipping document, it would have been a reasonable €30! When I brought this to their attention, they chose not to take responsibility for it despite it clearly being a fault of theirs and stopped responding. Worst ever service I have ever received despite me being willing to return the product and simply ask them to resend the product with the correct cost added the second time around on the shipping document. STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!! Better off choosing a more expensive pair of plates with the knowledge that you won’t have the same issues as I had! 0 Stars if I could!

I’ve purchased these plates twice two separate orders, the first order dark grey plate was a lot better quality wasn’t flakey was happy with that no complaint there, the second order I was very disappointed wasn’t the same plate was thicker and smaller then the other wasn’t the same plate as the first order and in different colour the plates I purchased wasn’t worth this amount very poor quality I’d not drop them in any shape of form as they’ll most likely break. I wouldn’t consider buying cheap plates as they wont last you very long in the long run if they were cheaper it’ll be much more considered. Giving two stars as the first order couldn’t complain about.
