MARINE BIOSYSTEMS F5 BIOPELLET REACTOR (30 - 100 Gallons) --- The F5 lifting plate is a unique patent pending design that uses radially spaced lifting fins and vertical outlet holes. Unlike competing designs which rely on the direct flow of the water to blow the pellets around, the F5 lifting plate forces the incoming water under the pallets and over the lifting fins. This creates a layer of moving water between the plate and pellets that the pellets ride on, which translates to no dead spots where the pellets don't move. The vertical orientation of the outlet holes and their adjacency to the fins allows the holes to be much larger then in other designs. The larger size means the holes won't clog, even in the toughest conditions. During a power outage, or when power is cut for maintenance, the pellets fall down and stack on top of the fins - preventing pellet back flow through the holes. --- Small footprint, small pump, small utility bill. The F5 lifting plate makes the F5 reactor the most efficient biopellet reactor on the market today. The nano and standard sizes have you covered up to a 100 gallon tank - and both operate on included 6 watt pumps. The F5 Max covers up to 350 gallon tanks on a twenty watt pump. Small pumps mean lower utility bills and less heat dissipated into your tank. It also means lower overall flow rates. This has two major advantages for overall reactor performance. First, the lower flow rates allow for better bacterial adhesion to the pellets and therefore better bacterial growth. Second, the output flow rates will likely be lower then your skimmer intake rate. Directing the outflow of the reactor into your skimmer input will not overwhelm it. This insures the skimmer/reactor pair work perfectly as a team to lower your tank nitrates and phosphates. F5 biopellet reactors are manufactured here in the USA using ultra modern additive manufacturing (3-D printing) techniques.
