The coolness of the clay used in the throwing process will draw toads to the garden and they will burrow down inside the toad house to stay cool in the heat of the day. They are useful creatures because they keep unwanted pests out of your garden. The toad house was hand thrown on the potter's wheel and is made from white stoneware clay with the look and feel of fine porcelain. If you live in a climate with below zero temperatures you might want to bring it in for the winter. It is sturdy but the weight of the snow might cause it to be damaged.
