Great little story.
Made an impression, mainly because the location is where I live. I gave it 5 stars because its a story you can read within hours.

Not to Small's taste
Small person is studying Anglo saxons in History at KS2, thought to support the learning with a touch of reading. Cross-curriculum linkage and all that, it turns out, is not to her taste. Although the book is accessible on all levels, Small felt the book far less interesting than her current choice of that teen demi (Greek) god adventures. I was happy to pass this book on to other parents. It's not too long, the text not dense and printed at a good size makes it quite useful to developping readers.

An awesome Anglo-Saxon adventure!
We've read a few Tony Bradman books recently and they are all superb! Winter of the Wolves impressed a ten year old reviewer who said it was perfect for children and adults who like history books. A cracking adventure to fire the imagination and an accessible read.
