UNION UNNY2100SC25 Mortice Deadlocks 5 Lever, Set of 10

I have used 2 of these locks, one as shown and one the same but with a latch. They have an air of quality because they are solidly built and of course the Union brand is known. However, both have been very unreliable and in both cases at least one key failed to work within a few days or weeks. This can make life very difficult because owing to the way the levers are designed, locks always close pretty easily, but they are more difficult to open. So, generally the problem only arises when you find yourself locked out of your house. I imagine few of these get returned because once you've fitted it or had it fitted to your door you are pretty committed - removing it and using a different manufacturer's lock will result in a messy and damaged door because the locks will most likely have different designs. Also, I had several keys cut so this is an additional cost you can't recover, even if you get the lock exchanged like for like. All in all, very disappointing and we will have to struggle by on the few keys that actually work. Given my time again I would buy more expensive locks.

The best value on the market as far as I can tell. Retailers want nearer £20 for a lock like this that has the latest BS standard.Also, a friend who knows a think or two about lock quality reckons Union are a good brand and he agreed that this is an excellent value for money product at this price.Compared to the Legge lock this replaces, this lock is far superior in quality and security.Amazon's delivery service after an Easter weekend as well, on a free delivery option, was excellent in speed and information on expected delivery day: credit where it's due, Amazon.Great lock at a great price.

I had to enlist a joiner to fit them for me, but they are absolutely solid and add that extra bit of assurance for me when my family are home alone or we're out of the house. I purchased two, one for each side of the house.

A very solid lock - the additional plating to prevent drilling attacks provides some peace of mind (perhaps 20 seconds worth) if it all goes wrong. Very good instructions included also.

Excellent strong lock that will give any door an added level of security. The only minor detail was that my lock came with one small escutcheon screw missing and one screw extra that holds the actual lock!

This lock seems solid in construction and the bolt has a good long throw. Straightforward to fit just take your time and ensure you buy the correct size for your door.

It has the look and feel of quality and strength about it - as soon as you take it out of the box it feels right.I do not regret buying it - quick to arrive and a very keen price.
