STONETECH Heavy Duty Exterior Sealer, 1 Quart/32 Oz (946ML) Bottle

(READ NOTE about product's retirement at review's end.) -- My front porch is covered with natural slate tiles that require a sealer. After installation of the slate tiles about 12 years ago, I used StoneTech's stone & tile cleaner followed by their Heavy Duty Sealer. Both products worked like a dream. The cleaner did a great job of preparing the tiles for the sealer. The sealer applied easily (two coats) with a foam roller (followed by wiping off the excess with a cloth): it absorbed completely and deeply into the tiles. Afterwards, the color of the slate tiles was magnificent. The sealer is durable, lasting about 4 to 5 years without needing a 'maintenance' recoat. This Fall (2025), I bought more stone cleaner and the sealer for another maintenance coat. I am very happy with the result again. NOTICE: The Stonetech Heavy Duty Exterior Sealer is SOLVENT-based, which makes it very durable. Unfortunately, Stonetech discontinued its solvent-based sealer and replaced it with a WATER-based sealer. No water-based sealer holds up as well in exterior applications. Once the current stock of solvent-based sealer is sold out, the Heavy Duty Sealer is gone forever. I bought a gallon to store away for the next maintenance coat.

Used this on slate topped fire pit Sealed well, sheen held up over the summer elements Will see it weathers the winter. Most likely would buy again

Used this around my pool area. The water is beading up on the flagstone for now. I will see how it holds up over the winter months! Seems good so far!

Used this on the lueder stone on our pool (coping). What a difference it has made. The color was not changed but the water does bead off and I hope that this prevents staining. Looks great. Easy to apply. I plan on using this on the stone for my grill.

We had to use this exterior sealer on interior counter tops because of stubborn slabs of stone that would not seal with the Bullet Proof sealer StoneTech makes. It has done a great job so far.

Product is easily applied with brush or poured on and spread with a saturated paper towel. As it soaked in quickly, I kept adding and spreading the sealer until absorption was reduced.

In general this product met my expectations. What I did not like is that the surface of the stone is shinier than expected. The mortar between the stones looks fine but the stone surface itself is a little shinney. Maybe this will tone down over time.
